A team would very likely trade you a relatively high pick and another first for one of these guys

I don't think the demand will be all that high to trade up for either Sanders or Ward, but I could be wrong.

I don’t think it’ll be the type of draft where teams are willing to give multiple firsts out to get these QBs, but I do think there’s a handful of teams super desperate for a new direction and new QB to put their hopes on. Even if you don’t get a haul, there’s an advantage to having a top pick. You can still take a lesser trade to move down and gain more assets if you don’t have a player you want that high. A lot of teams I think have stuck themselves at the top of the draft in years like this because they are so adamant at getting the same value as a different year that pick got, instead of reading the room on the value of those picks in an individual year

Now an additional complication for a team like the saints, is in that top 5-10 pick range, those guys get paid pretty decent money now and have contracts that you can’t really play funny money with. 10 mil for a QB is relatively extremely cheap in the market but a lot harder to account for on the cap sheet because that 10 mil can’t be moved via fake cap years or extensions for the first 2 seasons of the deal.

Saints will have to clear their negative cap by the start of the league year and will need to have enough room post free agency to sign a rookie class. Last year the cheapest draft class was the Browns at around 5.5 mil, and the most expensive was the Cardinals at nearly 20 million

When Drew retired I kept telling myself "Sean is a good coach, he can rebuild."

When he quit I started asking my grocery store to give me paper, not plastic.

Saints org is notorious for this.

shite the bed so you're basically out of playoff contention, then start winning games.

Fans deserve it though. Half of the fan base thinks you should still win bc of "pride".

Gayle really owns two of the worst teams in their leagues lmao
There's no shame in her selling her husbands businesses. He clearly ran them better than her. She and Mickey shouldn't be in their positions if the post Brees Payton covid era has shown us anything.
