Just, no. 50-0 is a stomping. As in last time the bRuins visited the Coliseum.
ucla hasn't won a game in the Coliseum since 1997.
Enjoy Westwood's new influx of VD.

That all happened when USC was facing a postseason ban.
Okay, there's always going to be reason why a kid wants out. According to people here, the Glen Stanley/Seantrel Henderson releases were exceptions because these recruits wanted to play in a bowl game and now they couldn't. Well, what if a recruit was promised playing time, or a starting position but then realizes he's not gonna get it. That's a lot less playing time than not playing in one bowl game. Should the kid be able to leave with no penalty?
quote:
No kidding, not even comparable.
I wasn't saying they were the same.
A poster said a school has never allowed a recruit to get out of his LOI...
quote:
The reason you don't hear about it is because IT HASN'T BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN.
Well, I gave two examples when that has happened just in the past few years. Including one where FSU took out of these kids.

Kiffin promised that there would be no sanctions, and once they came, he had no choice but to let those guys go.
Okay so you're saying that a kid should get out of his LOI if a coach didn't follow through on a promise to a recruit? If that's the case then recruits should be let out of their LOI all the time.

This is what the NCAA says about transfers
quote:
However, student-athletes in sports that are historically academically underperforming – including basketball, football, baseball and men’s ice hockey – are not eligible for the exception. Though student-athletes in these sports can’t compete in their first year at their new school, they can receive an athletics scholarship and practice with the team. A waiver process is available to all student-athletes, and each waiver request is reviewed individually. From April 2011 to April 2012, the NCAA approved 91 transfer waivers and denied 71.

I've given up on this thread.

Kiffin did not have to let Seantrel Henderson out of his LOI. He did though.
And I did not hear notre dame fans bitching when USC allowed Amir Carlisle to transfer without penalty because his dad went to notre dame.
Funny how this works when it benefits your team.

No kidding.
A promise and contract is just that - any type of promise.
But according to some idiots on here - going to some bowl game - is the be all and end all for the NCAA and their "student athletes" - it's not the committement to the school, the education or even playing participation or the regular season...it's about going to some corporate sponsored bowl game at the end of the year. Oh no, no bowl - stop the world...we need to suspend all our rules!
Fricked up reasoning and makes no sense and is really just a made up justification for FSU fans.

I don't know who Carlisle is, so I looked him up. His dad didn't go to Notre Dame. His profile says he graduated from Maryland. May want to check your facts.
Also, lots of obvious ND hate in this thread that seems to be clouding judgment, but what's new.

Actually he is at Purdue in an Admin role.

am I alive? ND is not petitioning against EV either dumbass.
If you transfer, you sit out a year per NCAA rules, unless youre granted a waiver.

language is obviously not your strong suit . this is hilarious
Like I said, he had to apply for a waiver from the NCAA. EV can still do the same.
Amir Granted Waiver

He was granted a waiver-- with the ability to play immediately-- because USC released him. He was not penalized by sitting out a year.

Keep going. I can not stop laughing. ND released the 'recruiting ban' on EV too, and now he has to apply for a waiver from the NCAA if he wants this year of eligibility.
One needs to get permission from the current school so he can get a scholarship elsewhere.
Thus the point of this thread,

Ya know, I was hoping that the Irish would curb stomp ASU in dallas this year because I am no fan of the current head football coach.
You are rapidly changing my desire to see that.
