There is no way this game can be played. Too many safety concerns. Tom Osborne seems awfully worried too.
Jesus, they aren't playing in the mountains of Iraq. We have something called police and security.

He should resign and get it over with.

Depending on how much he knows and how likely he is to spill the beans, he may very well wind up "committing suicide" or killed by an "angry fan". (Jack Ruby anyone?)

Agreed. He knows very valuable info.

Posted by DrSteveBrule There's no excuse for him not to be fired by now. I thought the whole reasoning behind firing Joe-Pa was because he KNEW something about the rape. The same should apply more so to McQueary.
Someone on Gottleib made a good point today... They think officials are asking Penn State to keep him on since he is the most important witness in the case and will need him to be fully cooperative through the whole investigation. Easier access to witness if he still works for PSU.

Do you guys realize that Joe Paterno had no superiors on that campus? If Joe Pa snapped his fingers, things got done. Joe Paterno was the only person on that campus that McQueary needed to talk to if he wanted something done with Sandusky. McQueary did tell Joe Pa. McQueary also knew that in 1998 Joe Pa helped to sweep another sexual assault by Sandusky under the rug. So when nothing was done in 2002, McQueary knew that Joe Pa had covered up yet another child molestation case against Sandusky. The prosecutor failed to prosecute in 1998, so McQueary probably knew that 2002 would be futile as well. Who knows what Joe Pa was telling McQueary.
Having said that, I don't have a problem with McQueary being removed from his coaching duties. But, I can see why his case is different than Joe Pa's. Joe Paterno was the only man on that campus with the authority to have Sandusky prosecuted.

Gotta think the next announcement will be his resignation, followed by witness protection program.

Guys - this just convinces me that McQueary is going to be an invaluable witness against high profile figures. The death threats might not all be from unruly fans...
I've been saying this from the beginning. If the rabbit hole goes as deep as I think it does, the bodies may start piling up, or "disappearing" in state college

I agree 100%

Damn...I'd stay at my house.

Very good post and I agree. My main beef with mcqueary is not stopping the rape and getting the kid to safety. Can't get my head around that

The old self-inflicted shotgun shot to the back of the head.

I can't see any other explanation for why he still has a job and people who didn't see anything are gone.

"Death threats" are a great excuse to keep him off the sidelines and out of the stadium and on the payroll.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Due to multiple threats made against Assistant Coach Mike McQueary, the University has decided it would be in the best interest of all for Assistant Coach McQueary not to be in attendance at Saturday's Nebraska game.

If the rumors of whoring boys out to powerful donors are true his silence makes a little more sense

I can't argue with that. I'm know that McQueary had to be in total shock at seeing this friend of his dad's doing this, but....
how did he just walk away??????

If not that, there is this oldie but goody, McQueary commited suicide today, he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest and head.
