Brees top 5 again
He's top 5 basically any possible way you evaluate how well the QB position was played.

MVPs are laughable to use.

Of course they are, cause Drew has never won one.

Except Brady doesn't choke in the playoffs like Brees does.
Brees is wayyyy better than playoff Brady.

And playoff Brees offenses score more points, more yards, and less turnovers than Brady.

So nah, you're wrong.

And you also changed the subject really quick because you know you said something stupid.

Why didn't you quote literally my next sentence?

Try being a little less disingenuous with your next post, that attempt was sad.

And to be fair, I've said that for as long as I've posted on this board, so it's not a new take just because it doesn't benefit Brees.

Go on, respond to that, I'll wait...

Not a Saints fan by any means but it's a joke that Elway and Staubach made the list over Brees.

Look Brees should have been on this list but thats a clown comment re: Elway and Staubach

If Brees had played in Staubach Era he would have been physically destroyed by year 3.

11 of the top 12 all time passer ratings are active qbs. I am not sure that brees is better than his peers more than the others were better than their peers. That’s something you can do if you wanna.

You just spout stats like the two played against each other last week.

Yeah, and Alex Smith has a greater career passer rating than Dan fricking Marino.

I did account for era which is why I specifically mention "at the time of his retirement." From his own era, Fran Tarkenton, John Hadl, Roman Gabriel, Norm Snead, Bob Griese, Jim Hart, Joe Namath, and Daryl Lamonica all had more career touchdown passes than Stabler. Tarkenton, Hadl, Snead, Hart, Namath, Charley Johnson, and Bob Griese also had more career passing yards. Also, Stabler and Tarkenton had a higher career completion percentage. What case does Staubach have for being a greater QB than Fran Tarkenton who put up far better statistical numbers?

Elway unequivocally did not play the position better than Brees.

Not in absolute terms. Not related to his peers. In no way was he better than Brees.

The only one I could find an issue with is Staubach.

The NFC South is practically the MAC of NFL Football so it actually makes sense.

Brees is a system QB and has been for his whole career. The voters were thankfully intelligent enough to get this.

Right? Great sarcastic point in support of Brees

Drew compares more favorably than Brady, Manning and Favre, so they should be off the list, I guess?

Favre is easily the most egregious imo.

That’s debateable. Both should have been on the list.

I think your real gripe is Favre

I am not so sure about that. The people have spoken. Brees isn’t top 10 according to NFL.

Definitely

But disagree on Elway. For example, Elway's best passer rating season, he was 16 points ahead of the 16th ranked due in passer rating.

I looked at 2009 for Brees, not his best passer rating season, he was 26 points ahead of the dude ranked 16th.

Brees was better than his peers at a higher clip than Elway was.

I am, because there is data to look at for these guys. The data is there.

You probably don't even know who voted. I can't name one person, no reason for me to put any stock into it.

he did win three mvp's though right?

he threw a lot picks but he also played for teams with way more history than Brees-Saints.

Favre was beloved.

hell they changed the OT rule right after he and the Vikes lost to the Saints.

An Esteemed panel of former players, coaches, and front office.

This is the equivalent of the nba players awarded mvp. Not voted on by media, but by peers.
