Saints' QB Drew Brees is expected to undergo thumb surgery as early as today that would be expected to sideline him approximately 6 weeks, per leagues sources.

Yikes.

Decision on Big Ben surgery also expected soon today, which could sideline him for the rest of the year.

6 weeks will put Saints at about the start of their bye week so he will get some extra days to heal/rehab and then the start of divisional play so it could be worse

6 weeks isn’t that bad. Saints can probably still get a wildcard spot when he gets back

Their schedule is pretty easy after the bye too. Falcons twice, Bucs, Titans, Colts, 49er's, and Panthers twice.

ETA: It just depends on how big of a hole they go into the next 6 weeks. They'll be lucky to go 2-4, more likely to be 1-5.

If this is an UCL rupture, 6 weeks is really aggressive. It’ll probably be closer to 8 IMO. Also, it’ll be closer to 12 weeks before he’s fully well (assuming no setbacks).

Should the Saints contemplate tanking for Tua? I mean Brees is 40 years old. God only knows how many more years he has left in him before he declines/retires.

We already have a win. The dolphins won't win a game.

Falcons aren't a slouch if Matt Ryan doesn't go full tard, Bucs look better than expected, especially defensively, Titans and Colts and 49ers are all better than expected.

Panthers at this point might be the easiest opponent.

The Saints have 3 tough games and 3 very winnable games.

3-3 and they are still in it.
