Did his rookie deal start last year after he was drafted or this year?

Not sure how someone can argue this fact.

It's not first contract year. He didn't play so he is a rookie.

Simmons is likely the odds on favorite to win Rookie of the Year next year as well.

It was funny the first time Mitchell made his point, now it's totally played out jealousy/lame schtick.

Y'all are fools if you don't think Ben and Donovan are both laughing at all of this together.

He will win it next year. A previous poster mentioned the precedent has been set and he is correct.

Mitchell's shirt even said a rookie is someone playing in his first season.

I tell you what show many any stat Simmons recorded in a regular season game last season.

meh, i think its debatable. I think you must at least take into account this is not ben's true rookie season a bit when weighing production and accomplishments. Mitchell scored 20.5 ppg his rookie year.

Ben was 15.8... dwayne wade was 16.2... lebron was 20.9.

Simmons deserved to win ROY, but the playoffs told us everything we really need to know...lets just say Utah would laugh their mother f*ckin asses off if Philly wanted to swap players straight up...

Nobody believes this, Mitchell's mom wouldn't believe this, and you don't believe this.

Simmons was effectively benched in the playoffs, bubba. But you do you.

ETA: He got exposed by Stevens.

Basketball fans would flip out if they knew a baseball player could play 40 games in his first season and still be considered a rookie the next season.

Could you be any less ‘big picture’? Holy shite. Try to look at the whole body of work instead of focusing on a handful of games.

No, he is a dumbass just like you

The precedent is once you enter a game and log a single second, you arent eligible for Rookie of the Year in the NBA

So no, mitchell wont be eligible next year
