Yeah but no long term security... but he gets a boat load of cash this year. Florida doesn’t have income tax right?

Long term, unless he gets hurt, the franchise tag is the best thing for him. Even if he gets hurt, it’s probably still the best unless it’s a career altering injury.

That’s a lot of money for the first WR to fail to reach 1k with 100+ catches

I’m not sure I see how Dolphins benefit from tagging him. Unless they have a conversation about trading him going

Who honestly worries about long term security if you rake in 17 million in one year right after tax cuts and he doesn't have to pay income taxes.

Then he has only made what 3.6 million in the first 4 years of playing for Miami?

Sounds like a OK deal to me. Hope he is able to survive on 20 million before income tax.

ETA: When I speak about long term security. I am referring to football contracts. Dude needs to invest and he will be fine.

Can you imagine being an accountant for a baseball player. Yikes.

Nobody should be fine with $17 million when they’re worth at least $40 million in guaranteed money on the open market.

What he made in the past is irrelevant because it was artificially capped by the league.

If you WORRY about getting 17 million dollars then something is wrong. If you don't want to settle for 17 million, that's a different story.

Also, it's a year long tender. He will be in an open market soon, enough.

An American with a Bachelor's degree makes on average 1.8 million in their lifetime. Landry is going to make more in one year than almost 9.5 people combined in their life. What the hell does a man who plays a fricking game have to worry about?

Good for Jarvis and I'm glad he has the ability to make that type of money but it is a bit crazy how much athletes get paid.

Gotta be rough, but I would think being one for a golfer who plays in multiple states and countries would suck worse. I’m assuming you would owe some taxes within those countries as well, but I guess I’m not certain.

An ex gf’s father handled financials for tons of well known MLB players. It’s long hours for parts of the year and involves a second house in AZ but I won’t ever feel bad for him
