His replacement would have been someone who got pretty much zero minutes
Question is who fills his role from who was already on the team
I'm not following this at all. The OP is about LBJ not being on roster. You think the named PF is a zero minute guy? Why?

We’ll have to agree to disagree.
I’m just glad we got to see LeBron, Steph and Durant play this Olympics. The end is near for all three so I appreciate the moments from these last two games.

Who on the current team could have taken over his points, assists, rebounds, and defense?
I don’t think it exists

Dude was a cancer on the team so yeah likely.

I could actually see Steph giving it one more ride, especially with it being in LA. He will be 40, but he loves the game so much. He's not 27 year-old Steph, but he can still bring it with the best of them.

Who stepped up the past two Olympics when the US won gold medals without Lebron?

And we barely held on still
Each 4 years the international teams are taking massive strides

Oh look the normal Lebron defenders will defend him no matter what and the haters will bash him.
Who knows. Maybe. The team got stagnant on offense at times. LBJ is responsible for some of that. He also was the catalyst for a number of their best runs on offense. He was fine today but had 5 TOs.

Again, not following. Someone would've been named months ago. Who is this zero minute guy?

You watched the Serbia and France games
You answer your own question from the OP and walk us through why you feel that way

Again, not following
Why do you think the player that was left home would have looked material anything?
The replacement was likely Brunson. Tells us how many minutes do you think he is getting?
If Lebron didn’t play his production replacement isn’t coming from the dude left off the team or the dudes on the team that rode the bench
It would have fallen to Steph, Durant, etc

Not sure what you are posting a rolling eyes gif for to that post.
Pride is exactly right 5 of the last 6 NBA MVPs went to players who are playing on teams other than the United States.
There was one player born internationally to win and MVP prior to 2004 and that was Hakeem Olajuwon who played for the US.
It’s only going to get tougher and tougher.

Other players step up just like they did in the last two Olympics when they won without Lebron.

I’m not denying competition has gotten tougher. But to say we can’t do something without Lebron, when we have done it without Lebron, is silly.

I think its a massive assumption to assume we still win by taking off the clear leader and statistical leader when we barely won with him

It’s not at all. These dudes are all alpha and the best in the world. Someone else, or multiple people, step up to fill the void. Especially when we have seen it in 2020 and 2016. Sure competition has gotten better, but it’s not a complete 180 from 4 or 8 years ago.

We had to play the clear cut best player in the world as an opponent
That is completely different than anything team USA has ever faced

Did they have 5 jokic on the team?
Is jokic far and away better than anyone on team USA?
What happens differently on Thursday if Lebron isn’t on the team?
