Does anyone remeber a QB named Kitchen or Kichens (sp) from Alabama in the mid-90's? That guy had a cannon. He couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, but his arm strength was unreal.

I've always considered Favre as probably having the strongest arm in the game, I've never cared about how guys can throw it down the field as i'd rather have the guy who can throw it 50 yards with accuracy then a 70 yard duck. Was always fun to see Favre throws those fastballs to guys on slants.

Freddie Kitchens. He's a coach in the NFL now.

a lot of guys in that convo. Bert Jones, Jeff George, Farve...... For strictly arm strength Jamarcus has them all beat though. Or at least he did when he was at LSU.

I remember Jamarcus throwing a 70 yard bomb off his back foot against MSU for a touchdown.
The ASU one to Doucet was a flick of the wrist that went 50+

Cause I know of guys that can push the ball 50-60 yards with ease, and guys that can't, but they have a quicker arm/release and can zip a slant into you at a High speed
someone have one or the other....but there are many that have both! Jamarcus, Vick, Flacco, Favre, Brady..Cutler

There was a play against Alabama back in '02 or '03 when we beat them in overtime 16-13 at their place.

Brady...um what?

When you say "arm strength" are you referring to ball velocity or how far they can push the ball down the field ?
These two things go hand and hand. Assuming that a quarterback throws a tight spiral and releases it at the optimum trajectory, distance will always be directly related to release velocity.

Bert Jones, with little debate. His deep passes had very little arc. Thrown on a rope

That's why I always vote Jamarcus. He didn't even look like he was putting effort into throws that had such high velocity. Just a flick of the wrist.

Yeah Bert Jones' passes looked like something out of Tecmo Bowl. That guy threw darts.

fixed
@2:00 - couple long passes with virtually no arc
@1:25 - several long passes on a rope

Who has the strongest arm ever?
He may have the strongest arm ever.

Uncle Rico could throw it 100 yards easy.
They say Terry Bradshaw would warm up at Tech by throwing the ball from the 10 to the other endzone. Over 90 yards is a pretty good arm if you ask me.
