I’d seen him on Twitter for a while but with his working with The Ringer, I’ve listened to him a lot more.

After some googling, he claims to win 59% of his football bets along with 77% on over/unders. This seems...high.

It’s also hard to find info on him. His bio on his website is just a bunch of vague info about his resume.

Is he a grifter?

He supposedly does analytics work for NFL teams too. Again, no teams named though. Hmmmm.

Why wouldn't he only bet explosively on O/Us?

I like sharp but yeah I’ve always assumed his gambling #s are bullshite, with those numbers he wouldn’t be selling picks and his action would move lines.

He just said on the ringer nfl show, he’s encouraging the offensive coordinators he’s talking to this week to have their OL hold more because he expects holding calls will be down in the playoffs

He is a grifter, but he provides interesting free data at sharpfootballstats.com. I wouldn’t pay for his picks. Anyone claiming to hit 77% in almost any market, let alone NFL, is almost assuredly completely full of shite.

anything saying they hit any sorts of sports betting at 77% is an obvious liar

What kind of sample size is he claiming here?

Break down of his record according to his site

Looks like the 77 percent number comes from 22-6 (79 percent) record that his computer model apparently given out for 2020

Definitely doable if it's just 28 games.

Yeah he's Hit or Miss like anybody else with his tweets the Anthony lynn takes were hilarious but he can also be a sanctimonious prick on there too.

Yeah cherry picking a good week or two is certainly possible.

Doing that in perpetuity would make you just a little less wealthy than Bezos, Gates, and Musk.

He and Kevin Clark are very similar in this respect. Basically, any coach that is a bit old school is a moron, and any coach that throws on 99% of first downs is a genius.

You can definitely be 22-6 for an entire season. It's such a small sample size.

I've gone on runs where I hit, say, 13 of 14 bets. I've also gone on runs on the opposite end lol.

If you bet enough, you'll get those weird anomalies here and there.

I've joked with him on multiple occasions in my tweets that he should go into coaching and ditch the analytics game. I've never heard back from him.

He's great at gathering data and interpreting it, but I feel as though his understanding of the game is greatly exaggerated, mostly by himself.
