American league. Watching pitchers hit is terrible. And for all the posters talking about "muh strategy"- making teams make tough decisions is not a good thing when it hurts the overall game. Pitchers being forced to hit is dumb. Time to join the 21st century

As a traditionalist I prefer the NL though it's not exactly a hot button issue for me. I don't have a problem with the folks who prefer the DH, each to his or her own

Do left handed pitchers not exist in the American League?

I’ll admit the strategy of pinch hitting for pitchers can be fun, but less fun that just than actual offense

This.

What the DH proponents are doing is effectively trying to legislate out a portion of the game because some players suck at it

Maybe we should eliminate the 3 point line because Ben Simmons can’t shoot them… Or have one position on the basketball court be manned by two people, one on offense and one on defense, who can’t cross into each other’s half of the court.

That’s basically what the DH is

I like real baseball, so no substitute hitters.

Yea, lets have substitute runners too.....or how about any good defensive player who can't hit can have his own substitute batter.

NL. Every other position except pitcher bats. Some oitchers can hit. You also have to pay attention to manage in the NL.

Just let starting pitchers be re-entered after being PH for. That will keep much of the strategy intact and force managers to use their benches instead of just playing 9v9.

we’ve had pinch runners forever

But you hit on another idea… baseball could be a full platoon game. Maybe you could have as many DHs as you want, with 9 in the batting order and another whole 9 that goes out into the field

Yes but then the substituted player is out of the game like PH for a pitcher.

I like NL baseball better but I know the DH is coming so let’s get it over with.

NL

Pitchers should have to hit and hitters should have to play defense

I’ve always preferred the AL. The DH is fun, but as another poster piointed out, if you play defense you should play offense.

Still pissed Bud Selig moved the Astros to the AL and left his Brewers in the NL. Stupid stupid stupid.

Prefer NL.

But that's the great thing about having the two leagues different. If you like the DH you can watch AL games. If you don't you can watch the NL. Why do they want to alienate the traditional fans? We all get what we want right now.
