I prefer NL baseball but could get on board with the idea of using a DH for the starting pitcher only.

It would preserve the idea of bench and bullpen strength as important to winning a championship.

American League all day. And I’m an Astros fan, so I’ve seen them in both leagues. Not only is it more fun to not have to watch pitchers hit, but I like the teams better. It’s much more fun competing with the Yankees and Red Sox than any of the national league teams.

Don't sign pitchers that are shite at playing baseball
No team is going to sign a pitcher for his bat. Pitchers are signed because they can pitch. Whether or not they can hit it irrelevant.

NL. The AL will never understand the joy of watching a SP crush a grand slam, draw a base loaded walk, or enjoy seeing the rare Bartolo Colons of the world embarrass the guy on the mound.

frick the DH abomination.

What the DH proponents are doing is effectively trying to legislate out a portion of the game because some players suck at it
It’s because every other position besides pitcher makes the Major Leagues because of their bat. Since the ability to pitch is so incredibly important to a team, it’s the only position where guys make the Major Leagues only because of their ability in the defensive side of the ball.

Because of how the game was designed, the premium on pitching is way out of balance with the need for them to be a good hitter. The DH simply removes that imbalance. Plus, nobody wants to see a pitcher hit. It’s not like putting in a pinch hitter is some amazing mind-blowing strategy. So who cares if that tiny part of the game is removed?

See I’m just the opposite. Outside of the two teams you mentioned, I find the AL teams boring. But understand that I followed the Astros for 40 years before the switch so I had a history of hating several opponents from the NL.

When I was first old enough to follow baseball the Big Red Machine was in their heyday. You always wanted to beat them. Any Astros fan in 70s 80s hated the Dodgers. The playoff losses to the Mets and Phillies still carry hard feelings even after all these years. And everyone knew the Cubs and Braves because of their national tv networks.

In a vacuum I prefer no DH. But again that goes back to my NL fandom. Now that the Astros are in the AL and I’ve gotten used to the DH, I can’t “unsee” it.

I still think given the Diamondbacks relative short time in MLB compared to the Astros, that they should have been moved to AL West while the Astros moved to the NL West where they once were.

NL, because I'm an American and I don't like change

But ultimately the DH will provide a lot more star power for the NL and it's inevitable, so I'll bitch about it long after it's done but it won't actually impact my enjoyment of the game much.

I enjoy the National league better. It’s so weird mlb has 2 rules for its league. It would be like if the afc had 5 downs to get a first down but nfc 4 downs

AL...all day everyday. If the NL is such a superior game in terms of “muh strategy”, then they’d win every World Series. The NL is boring and nobody wants to watch pitchers K every at bat. Get with the 21st century. Do pitchers hit in college? Do pitchers hit in the minors? The they shouldn’t hit in the Majors. AL

This. But send the Astros and Brewers to their original divisions.
