Also, add Bob McAdoo, Ralph Sampson, Amar'e Stoudemire, Chris Webber, Larry Johnson, and the tragic Maurice Stokes deserve mentioning.

I was going to mention randy Livingston as well, although the injuries were pre-nba.

more than you do apparently. The point of this thread went way over your head.

I dont think Chris Webber would call his career disappointing. I don't think Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo would either. Some of yall need to consult a dictionary

Then again this is all subjective.

I'm not going to continue arguing with you because you seem like a troll. However, if you do any Google search on "NBA careers hurt by injuries", I guarantee you every single one will have Chris Webber at or near the top of the list. If he stayed healthy, he would be unanimously mentioned as one of the best power forwards to ever play the game.

Count me as another that disagrees about Webber.

Older players tend to be more injury prone. Even though his career may have ended early, it was still very fulfilling.

Just in the last 10 years, I think of guys like Shaun Livignston, Oden, Penny Haraday, Jay Williams as guys that never even really got a shot to make a legacy.

Yea, it is subjective, but i dont think Webber fits the spirit of this thread.

I would actually mention Webber because even though his career may not be viewed as disappointing to us, it is to him. I guarantee you there is nothing more he wanted than to win a championship and almost redeem the timeout against UNC. That Kings team was set up beautifully and was poised to make a championship run over the next few years. The Webber injury ruined all of that, and his play never recovered.

Bill Walton and his outlet passes was the other guy that came to my mind.

25.8 6.6 5.2

Grant Hill's numbers the year before playing in four games for Orlando. He was a freak.

well yea, its disappoint because of that.

Let's consider that over 13 seasons, he averaged

21 pts 10 rebs 4.4 ast 1.5 stl 1.5 blocks

THat's a fantastic career for most guys.

Webber's career was absolutely disappointing but only because of his health, not talent, attitude, or will. If he could have averaged 75 games a season, we are looking at a guy who would have had around 23k-24k points and 10-11k rebounds. That would have put him in the top 30 in both categories in NBA history.

so Bender is disappointing, a guy who was oft injured but even when he did play, he sucked

and Webber is disappointment, a guy who was injured often(using that term loosely), but when he played, was an all star.
