I don't think it's quite the worst. Jim Zorn tried something similar towards the end of his tenure as Redskins head coach on a FG. Except the defense called timeout after they shifted to talk about how to defend it, then Zorn came out after the timeout and still ran the same play. IIRC, it resulted in the holder/punter aimlessly tossing the ball towards the end zone with no one around. It had just as comical execution, but with the added bonus of the coach knowing that the other team was ready for it and still not caring.
