Colin Hurley, the LSU signee reclassified and did the same thing. He’ll be 16 when he enrolls at LSU.

So he went to OSU early as opposed to being in HS and not playing?

He spent his senior year in high school at Ohio State, yes.

Kind of like Ryan Williams Jr.

Yep. If I recall correctly, it had something to do with Texas law and his not being able to get NIL money while still in high school or something like that. While it may not be exactly that, it's something like that. It definitely had to do with money.

He did graduate HS in 3 years. I'm not sure how, took summer classes maybe.

Ohio State did not want him to reclassify.

He got some NIL deals lined up but Texas HS rules didn't allow it, so he reclassed and enrolled at Ohio State after fall camp started. It was less than optimal.

Something seriously wrong with this… football in high school is magic. Skipping that is a bad move

It’s a pathetic situation. He went to OSU as a high school senior and got paid. Then he got “homesick” and got all sort of special treatment to try and keep him from transferring. When the rest of the team went on an away game, he stayed behind some boosters took him deer hunting to keep him happy. Seriously. I’m not making this up.

He wasn't on the travel roster at that point. We had 3 QBs ahead of him.

But yes, that did happen.

Supposedly he got over million and he ended up playing like 3 plays that year, that's kinda magical.

Yeah. Texas had a law that high school players couldn't get NIL money. So he rolled out to Ohio State and supposedly made over a million.

I remember the deer hunting trip. Hope he got a few trophies out of that from the Ox Ranch.

My SIL graduated from Southlake. It was a bit controversial from what she said.

The first QB to ever leave high school early and skip Senior Year was John David Booty out of Evangel in Shreveport to go to USC. Apparantly his dad and the Evangel Leader Duron had an argument over a bible study and John David left bc of it to be first qb to leave early. Matt Leinart thought he was dumb to do it. Also, having a connection to John David Booty, they apparantly offered his girlfriend at the time, can't give name, a full ride to USC to join him. She declined it to go to LSU, and they broke up. She was def as beautiful and smart as it gets. Think she's a doc now.
