I’d never heard this before and seems like it would be contrary to what Bear Bryant was doing behind the scenes? LINK

I'm going to say yes. And post it to the Recruiting Board.

I’m going to guess that that wasn’t the reason.

That wasn’t bama’s entire team and there were black bama players out there. People make up some stupid shite

That certainly wasn't the whole team. Probably just the seniors.

Colorado, coached by Eddie Crowder, won 47–33, defeating the SEC favorites led by Bear Bryant.
As for the claim?
But articles about the game when Bill Collins died last year were this:
quote:
In 1969, Alabama — coached by the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant — had yet to integrate its roster, even as other major programs across the country began recruiting Black athletes.
During the pregame coin toss, Alabama sent its entire roster of more than 40 white players to midfield. Colorado’s captains — in what became a symbolic gesture — decided to send Collins alone.
“Bobby Anderson looked over at me, and he says, ‘What do you think? Shall we just send Bill?’ And I [said], ‘Why not?’” Pruett recalled. “I tell you what — we were proud of what we did.”
The game itself was marked by hostility from the stands.
“It was all a sea of red, which was Alabama fans, and they were throwing stuff, you know, just trash down on us, and spitting and [using] racial epithets,” Pruett said.
Now executive director of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Ehrhart calls Collins’s walk to midfield, “One of the turning points that helped spur the integration of Southern football."

It was probably a signal to Bama fans that they'll have to get used to black players. Doubt Bryant looked at his '69 team and thought they could intimidate someone.

I didn't know this. From that thread. To hype up the 1962 Gator Bowl against Penn State as a North/South battle, Florida added confederate flags to their helmets.

Well it worked, we won.
Plus good ole Jerry Sandusky was a true freshman on Pedo State.

Yes, Bear Bryant was a known racist.

Pray tell when did Bama get its first black football players?

Seemed like the bama players were friendly enough for the hand shake - I think it’s wildly over exaggerated this was a deleted scene from Mississippi Burning

And they shook hands. Not what I was expecting with the title “racial intimidation”.

Some of them looked black but also old film and my crappy eyes. Appreciate the correction. I still don’t think it was an intimidating thing, probably seniors maybe on senior night, and they shook hands and seemed polite.

Crappy team that was...finished in the Cellar of the SEC with Kentucky.
Writing was on the wall.
Sucked the next year too...started with that famous blowout by USC at Legion Field which put the nail in the Coffin for Bama's dreams of segregated football glory.
