If Barkley had Shaq's height.... Barkley was a way better player per inch than Shaq was.

Shaq came off like a huge pussy in that exchange

Shaq got pissed the moment Barkley mentioned that their was beef between Shaq and Kobe. Which just confirms there was major beef between them

Barkley was a beast. Don’t overlook him.

Career averages for each:

Shaq: 23.7 pts, (on 58% shooting), 10.9 rebs, 26.4 PER
Chuck: 22.1 pts, (on 54% shooting), 11.7 rebs, 24.6 PER

A guy who says "Kobe, tell me how arse tastes" and "Kobe couldn't do it without me" in a freestyle rap after Kobe loses a NBA Finals probably had beef with Kobe at one point.

Shits been known fake for awhile. CNN was caught in the 90s lying about all sorts of shite in Iraq. They even got caught filming with a green screen in their parking lot acting like they were live in Iraq

Probably not, Shaq just can't take any jokes or criticism.

Deep down it's got to eat at him that if he had taken care of his body and actually given a shite about practicing his FTs he would easily be considered the GOAT player by the vast majority of basketball fans.

Physical dominance isn't GOAT player...Stilt proved that when he was far more dominant than Shaq ever was against his peers and still fans didn't annoint him.

Fans and sportswriters like skill not just birth gifts.

No sportswriter the last 30 years has ever put Shaq in the Top 5 all-time, so don't know how he would be GOAT all of a sudden.

If Wilt wasn't GOAT when he eviscerated his peers far more than Shaq ever did...difficult to see your premise. Backing your way down on the block to a turnaround dunk isn't really all that awesome...Wilt powered his way to layups and dunks for 60 points a game average far before Shaq.

And nobody ever declared him far greater than West or Baylor...he was just a phenom...a goliath...that's different from a gifted basketball player.

This. He and Kobe are very similar in this respect.

And Chuck was a beast. The "how many rings" argument was a complete non sequitur when Shaq should have been a top three player of all time instead of a top ten player of all time - and the difference was pretty much only due to Shaq's failure to work harder.

The point stands whether it gets raised by an all time great or a fan who never played the game professionally.

It’s funny looking back and seeing how many retards fell for the “Kobe ran Shaq outa town because Kobe was jealous or whatever” narrative pushed by our now-known fake news MSM.

It’s funnier now that the facts have come out and Shaq’s admitted he was lazy and wanted more money leading him to throwing a ball AT Jerry Buss and yelling in his face.

When you have two players like Shaq and Kobe averaging like over 26 ppg each during their apex together and it comes to credit distribution, dissension and disagreements between two alphas result and creates a dangerous impasse which results in a departure. Same thing happened with Shaq and Penny in Orlando and apparently it may have happened between LeBron and Kyrie though I had no indication or inference of that, generally appeared they had a great relationship on and off the court until Stephen A Smith released that controversial report about the trade request.

What's wrong with Lonzo's knee? All I ever see is his knee is sore.

Shaq at his apex during that three-peat was arguably the most dominant basketball player of the modern era that played EXCEPT when he shot free-throws

Honestly, I'm not sure who the better player between the two were because when Shaq was with Orlando dude could run the floor very well on the break, was so athletic for how big he was maybe Chuck because he was better at free-throws? IDK

Shaq needed a Ewing baseline turnaroud JS. He never developed one. He never developed any shot beyond 5 feet.

No sky hook, no baseline turnaround (hell Bill Cartwright developed this).

Shaq was lazy. No wonder Kobe was on his arse. Shaq never developed his game beyond natural ability and I'm bigger than you dunks or finger layups.

Dude could not hit a shot from 15 feet or beyond. (FT line)

Ewing could. Barkley could. Duncan can, Jabbar could, Robinson could, Walton could, Mourning could, Russell could.

What is Shaq's offensive signature move? I'll wait. You know, the one we all remember...like every other player...the one that gave him all those points...the one where he just was just a smooth shooter from atop the paint?

It's not there. There is no memory of such a Shaq.

Do you realize Barkley was an MVP front court player at Kobe's height? He's a big time outlier. Barkley in Shaq's body is a GOAT candidate.

This is mostly true. He should have been more polished from outside and he should have been able to improve his free throws.

Having said that, he obviously did improve around the basket over time. And as his ability to run and jump declined his strength improved (at least for the first year or two of the Laker championship years).

He did put in the types of work that he enjoyed. He always did strength training. He did develop around the basket. He is now probably significantly underrated as a defensive presence.

In short, although he was never a fully rounded big man (like a Patrick Ewing) he was obviously a much better player because his positive attributes on the court were pretty much unstoppable.
