I hope he gets drafted. I wish him all the luck in the world. He was a big reason why we won national title. I'm not sure we would have won without him.

If by successful you mean parlaying his senior season into a 7th round draft selection in the NFL. Yes he was successful.

12/30/09 - Things seem to be moving along well for JSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux. He recently accepted an invitation to play in the Feb. 6 Texas vs. The Nation all-star game in El Paso, Texas, and he's within days of signing with sports agent Bus Cook. His only setback since the season ended was undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee. "Nothing serious," he said. He has recovered from it and will start his training regimen for the next level in Hattiesburg, Miss. - Cook's home base - starting Jan. 2. Cook, by the way, is the agent for Brett Favre and Jay Cutler, the two quarterbacks in Monday night's Vikings-Bears shootout. Perrilloux celebrates his 23rd birthday on New Year's Day. - Al Muskewitz, The Anniston Star

11/24/09 - 2009 WALTER PAYTON AWARD CANDIDATE FINALIST: Ryan Perrilloux, Jacksonville State, Senior, 6-3, 223, Quarterback, LaPlace, LA. STATS: 138-of-236 (58%), 2,345 yards passing, 23 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 98 carries, 443 yards rushing, 8 rushing touchdowns, 4.5 average, 2,793 yards of total offense, 10 games played. Perrilloux, a transfer from LSU, has lit a fire under Jacksonville State's sixth-ranked scoring offense. The senior leads the nation in passing efficiency and ranks 12th in total offense. He didn't toss an interception until his fifth game of the season. Perrilloux threw for a career-high 323 yards against the Racers. The one-time MVP of the SEC championship game has earned a record-setting seven OVC player of the week honors this season. This is Perrilloux's first appearance on the Payton Award list. - The Sports Network

Good for him. I would love for my Skins to draft him in the 6th or 7th rounds. Campbell isn't going anywhere next year and Perriloux would look nice in Shanahan's offense.

After reading this thread, I think the answer is a solid YES. He made the most of the opportunity he had. He did not waste his time at Jacksonville State. I think he's very talented, and I wish him the best.

ALL he could do, was do his best. I think he did that.

If he had hsi s*** together and didn't get kicked off, LSU has two completely different seasons the last two years. And on top of that, JL and JJ would ahve had time to learn and get prepared to take over as upperclassman, the way it's suppose to be. Anyone who doesn't thinh his bonehead isn't still effecting this team is ignoring the truth. There are exceptions, but look at when starting QB's go out, usually the team as a whole has a drop off.

RP will be drafted in the late rounds, and he will have a successful NFL career.

He is better than most of the top QBs coming out of the draft.

RP or Bradford? RP
RP or McCoy? RP
RP or Clausen? Debatable

physically, RP is like elway

being drafted late may help him out in the long run

he will have to sit the bench no matter what and learn how to be an NFL QB over a few years

nothing is given to him, and he'll have to work hard to keep getting a paycheck during those few years

so IF he puts in his time and IF he can maintain a work ethic and maturity on and off the field, i could see him doing things in the NFL

yes he had success and yes he will get drafted. All of the negative remarks towards him on this thread are a joke. He was a 19 year old kid who made some mistakes. Name one of us who didn't. LSU was't screwed up by him. Plenty of teams have had the same situation and have had success. The last interview I saw had him accepting all responsibility for his actions and stating that the coaches gave him every opportunity and it was his fault he did not get his act together.

The kid learned from his mistakes and I wish him well in his future. And people are right there is NO 07 championship without RP. Joe Flacco was from a small school as well so was Kurt Warner.

Yeah, any team would be stupid to not give him a shot.
His upside is just too high.

LSU spent two years of development on him. His presence on the depth chart probably had a negative effect on QB recruiting. After he was gone LSU was forced to find a winner with a couple of inexperienced guys. You are crazy not to think his situation screwed LSU at the QB position the last couple of years.

Honestly they had a system with JR, Flynn, and RP. The system was to set LSU up with another year or two to find the next guy.

Was kind of funny to read that, not because it's wrong but because according to Geoff Ketchum..

quote:

Few people know this, but Mark Sanchez really, really liked Texas and might have committed to them but he knew they loved Ryan Perrilloux

I'm more than happy with the years Colt gave us, it's just funny to think how one person can affect so many teams.
