Deontay Wilder: Mayweather is a hater for criticizing my performance against Fury

Wilder deemed Mayweather “a hater” while watching a replay of his controversial split draw with Fury on Thursday with a small group of reporters at a Manhattan restaurant. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion commented on Mayweather’s criticism of his performance when Mayweather was shown on the screen, criticizing Wilder’s performance as Gray interviewed him.
Among other things, Mayweather told Gray he had England’s Fury in front 5-0 through five rounds. Wilder won the fourth round on the scorecards of each of the three judges, only one of whom scored their 12-round fight for the Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native.
“He is a hater,” Wilder said. “He don’t want nobody else to have no shine but him. It’s a shame because he’s 40-something years old. I mean, get married, man. Settle down. It’s sad. And these is the champions, the former champions, and then downing the champions – this is what makes the sport bad. Because they’re downing fighters. They down ‘em.”
Mayweather reportedly walked away from the ring disgusted Saturday night at Staples Center, once Showtime’s Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced the split draw.
“Deontay Wilder, he’s depending just on one shot,” Mayweather told Gray from his ringside seat following the fifth round. “He’s looking for just one, big shot. And as a fighter, you have to use other weapons. Fury’s using combinations and a very, very fast jab, and taking his time. So I think if Deontay Wilder don’t do something else, it looks like Fury’s gonna win, if it goes the distance.”
Mayweather added that his score was, “5-0 so far. Deontay Wilder, a hell of a fighter. You know, I love Deontay Wilder. Fury is a very unorthodox boxer. A good matchup.”

Honesty is often mistaken for 'hating'.

I'm far from a fan of the little woman beater, but if saying Wilder lost that fight makes one a hater, then I guess me and everybody who has ever watched boxing and is not from Alabama is a hater.
Mayweather's comments were spot on and he was even polite about it.
Wilder needs to shut up and send those two judges a thank you card.

If Wilders trainers/ corner aren't telling him the same thing Mayweather said then he needs to find a new trainer.
Maybe Wilders sensitivity to the slightest criticism is the reason he's a somewhat unpolished all around fighter.

You could tell Mayweather was probably actually rooting for Wilder during that interview, but he knew he was getting killed on the cards because Fury was handily out boxing and controlling the match for round after round, and he gave a measured, honest answer. I thought it was far from inflammatory and if Wilder thinks it was, then he's an idiot.
He lost the fight by every measure upon every unbiased set of eyes, and lost thoroughly. Outside of one half-slip knockdown and of course the 12th, he was outclassed in every way.
He should be thankful boxing is corrupt and just shut up, count his purse, and then begin counting again for what will be the payday of a lifetime if they rematch...which they will.

Boxers who like to hug and tenderly tap opponents on the cheek have to stick together

More like he started much later than your average prize fighter.

This article is being taken out of context for what DW was trying to say.
His overall message was that he didn't feel to past champions reached out to the up and comers to help them avoid many of the pitfalls they themselves went through and it's a damn legitimate point.
Mayweather even was hating on Alvarez's DAZN deal because Floyd was worried people would think it was bigger than the deal he had with Showtime.

Besides slick fighters like B Hopkins & Sergio Martinez many late starters aren't as polished/ versatile as someone who starts in their early teens / pre teens like Mayweather.
I admire Wilder's heart , dedication and right hand that have helped him get this far. Maybe him hearing about his unpolished style for years is annoying?

The Wilder PR tour after this bullshite draw has been full on
dude has been on multiple shows on fox and espn
he lost and he knows it
that judge who had it 115-111 should never do a boxing match again.
