Yes he lied and embellished things we know that. What does that have to do with him being scammed by a crazy arse guy who obviously had some deep seeded hate and went to ridiculous lengths?
This guy lied to the head of a fan club or whatever that his freaking 9 year old little sister had a disease. If that doesn't PLAINLY and OBVIOUSLY show you that he was a scam artist then what the hell will.

Just image the persistence oh Ronny T had to keep this thing going for that long. I mean frick, if I play a joke on someone, it will end quickly, but for him to be a part of this for so long would have to be tiring, no?

Who convinced multiple people to go along with this hoax for THREE YEARS? Tuiasosopo and Te'o were well-acquainted. He couldn't pull this off all by himself without being found out if indeed Te'o is some innocent victim in all this.

He never talked to her. Te'o made that up to embellish the story for his Heisman run.
The only thing that actually happened is Te'o communicated via twitter (and possibly) text with Lennay.
