He told ND because others were tweeting about it in December. Another ND player said they figured she was fake. People were talking. He concocted because: A. Last summer he tweeted about going for the Heisman on some Xbox game and even though he was on no one's list, he clearly has a wild imagination. Remember Johnny FairPlay on Survivor faking his grandmothers death to win the sympathy of his fellow contestants? It's certainly plausible he and his HS thought this scheme up for the purpose of drawing attention and sympathy. B. He's gay and his HS buddy is in on it (possibly ver in on it) and the HS friend asked the chick for the twitter pic and they concocted this Jan Brady story to hide the fact that he's never had a girlfriend. C. Both of the above. His continued references to her, his lies about her family helping him get brought this, his dad saying she visited them in Hawaii, him staying on the phone with her every night, his reference to her letter one month after she died, all point to his active roll (yeah he was the top) in this scheme.
