They didn't talk to anyone they should have according the Deadspin writer. They did barely any actual investigation and are taking Teo's word for it.

I'm willing to bet that Te'o will eventually tell the truth about his lies and say he lied to ND, saving ND from further embarrassment. Not sure what to make of the PI report though.
