and that's where the interview should start
the only way to really feel him out of this situation is to get into excruciating detail about who said what, when, and how

That's nice of him to do that.

Listen, I'm not trying to make Te'o out to be a guy here that told the whole truth. I think the core of his story is true for the most part. I think there was a person acting as a girl he thought was real and had a "relationship" with and thought she died. I think it's odd he called her a "girlfriend". Do I think he talked with her for hours each night, every night? No, though he may have done so a few times. I don't think he ever met her (though it's possible, I guess, if there was an impersonator, based on the AZ fullback statement), and think he said so because it sounds stupid (and it is, too, and I think everyone would agree) to say you have a gf that you've never met/touched. Basically, I think there was a loss he experienced, he felt pain, and he also said lies and exaggerated the relationship.
I do think the people saying he made her up and killed her off are wrong. Didn't need to do it, at all. Nothing good could come from it. Don't see why at all for publicity, dude was already nationally known. Further, Swarbrick would not stand behind Te'o like he did unless he had reason to believe Te'o was telling the truth (or mostly the truth). There would be no reason for ND to take a stand if the investigation didn't reveal anything to validate Te'o's claims. The gay thing is more possible, but still don't see why he'd concoct a complete story like this, rather than just go out and get a real gf and "fake" that he was straight, and it also doesn't take into account Swarbrick standing behind Te'o. Neither of those also take into account why Te'o would tell ND.

yep. The fake mom even took over her twitter handle after she died so she could retweet Te'os thoughts about her passing

TL;DR
Manti is a liar and an a-hole.
Jk, I read it and still think you are delusional.

ESPN2 showing clips of all his missed tackles against Bama
ETA: Apparently, they're blaming his poor play on "this situation". Un-motherfricking-believable.

in my time online i've seen probably at least 100 fakers get people wrapped up in them, and i admit i've been fooled (once publicly on this very site, RIP Marie)
It's easy to dupe someone initially but what college chick is not on Facebook? What college chick only has one pic of herself? Skype? FaceTime? Even if she was Amish, he could have met her when they played at Stanford.
And that post game interview after the Mich State game where he thanked her family for helping him get through her death kills all credibility.

Todd McShay just gave us the understatement of the century on SportsCenter. He referred to Manti Te'o as being "a little bit naive."
