De La Salle got a bunch of Mexicans running over future SEC players.

That offense looks very difficult to stop.

Yeah...

And DeSean Jackson

Long Beach Poly has currently 16 players in the NFL (2nd)

De La Salle has 12 players (5th)

But all-time -

Long Beach Poly has also sent more players to the NFL than any other high school in the country, sending over 60 throughout the history of the school.

Also, Long Beach Poly was named athletic school of the century and ranked number one in best high school athletic programs in the nation by Sports Illustrated.

No crime in losing to De La Salle. They have been "national champs" 7 times in just the last 20 years.

They had the longest winning streak in sports history at 151 games. They made a movie about it.

And they weren't playing cupcakes during that streak...like I said earlier, during that streak they beat Long Beach Poly ranked #1 and the greatest NFL pipeline in America...the most successful sports school in America.

I will say it again...De La Salle...is the craziest football culture in America because they shouldn't be this successful.

Long Beach Poly makes sense - is L.A. athletes - (a first class LA school...the best sports school in America)

De La Salle is in freakin' Concord, private - Christian...(as their own website says 99% go on to college and exclusive colleges.) Concord is 75% white.

They are a carbon copy of NOLA's John Curtis Christian

Split back veer, tried and true for 30 years
Feeder schools on the same page as the varsity program for continuity
Very athletics friendly admin
Lots of wealth in the school to help pay for a few underprivileged kids that are good athletes
Cult like commitment to the program and its coaches
Tradition

Yeah...

But...it's still kinda weird that private christian schools took over H.S. sports.

Because they made have it a real mission.

They win and win and win despite not being a great football NFL factory like Long Beach Poly.
When DLS started the 152-0 streak they had Amani Toomer when it ended I think they had TJ Ward not sure who they've produced since then but during that streak they had more or less the same number of NFL players as Poly

When I was in high school De La Salle was the whipping boy of the public school right next door, Ygnacio Valley High School. Things began to change when YV lost about half its student body to a brand new school, Northgate High School, in the mid-1970s.

DLS began to excel in the 1980s. I'm convinced the ascendancy had to do with teachers unions getting more influence on public schools, and more parents willing to send their sons to a private school. And DLS was, and still is, the only private school of note east of the Oakland Hills.
