She did Very well.
I only caught bits and pieces of the race, ~50% of it in total. Genuine question: Did she make a single pass during the whole race (apart from pit road)? I didn't see her make any passes when I was watching, except she made up a few spots on a couple of pit stops.
For that matter, did anyone make any passes during green-flag racing? It seemed like the whole time I was watching, they were single-file and nobody was even attempting to pass.

Yeah, I thought about that, too. As long as they were running nose to tail, though, her crew should have been talking to the 88 and making a deal. No wonder she didn't have any confidence
Still, hell of a job.

I think she thought somebody was going to nail her in the arse if she did from what she just said in her interview.

There were multiple chances with 20 left to drop in front Johnson. Multiple.

Not many passes except for the wrecks

Amazing.
People getting jacked up because a driver finished 8th in their second Daytona 500 as if that were the sign of a shitty driver.
I'm sure you laughed your arse off when Dale Sr. cut a tire on the last turn of the 500 that year and blew the race.
Any driver can get shuffled back 20 spots in seconds at Daytona.

Yet if she races hard and wrecks, you fools would be calling her a terrible and reckless driver. She did a good job today.

She is a woman in a man's sport. She was right not to put herself in a position to have to depend on those that may resent her. She was no where to be found last year. This year she finishes top 10 in the Superbowl of Nascar. Good move I think.

She was scared to get the train run on her
On the one hand, if she had went for it and no one went with her, she could have dropped out of the top 20 in the blink of an eye. But on the other hand, there was no way for her to win racing so conservatively.

Did jr. Wait to long? Could he should he have been more aggressive.

This. If she steps out of line and no one goes with her, she looks like a damn fool. Still think it's on her team for not giving her the confidence/green light to go, but she'll be back.

No, that was perfect timing, Martin just couldn't get to the back of him to give him a shove after turn 4

Really hard to say, tbh. I think he played it about as well as he could have.

Jimmy prob tore his front end up in purpose for post race inspection. I remember Knaus giving him a coded message a few years ago in the garage that if he won make sure to tear it up a little on the burnout.
Nah, he wouldn't even bump the wall, he could have

Perhaps her crew chief tried to make a deal with the Earnhardt crew but they refused to dance. I'm sure she would have gone for it if she had struck a deal with them.

He told Steve on the radio that he did wait too long. He said he had visions of 08 in his head and was afraid to get out too soon. He said he thought he could have passed jimmie if he had another half lap.

I believe she did a good job, but relatively speaking, JJ Yeley, McDowall etc did better considering she has much better equipment, funding etc. They don't get the press because obviously she's a woman, and a good lucking one at that. That's just the way it goes.
