Jim Deshaies and Bill Browne were hype during that wrigley series.

2008, aside from Kaz Matsui's anal fissures, was still a pretty solid lineup.

I am guilty of telling Ryno that DDsJr would pass Altuve on the depth chart one day.

Good times. We have all Said many troubling things over the years. Tonight we right all of the wrongs once and for all.

Yes we have from 2013

am lucky to have CSN, and I ended up watching more baseball games this season than I have in the last two combined. the draw for me was watching some younger players develop. We have a few guys up now who can stick and be good: Castro, dominguez, Cosart, Obie, Villar, Grossman, all fun to watch. Altuve is a good stop gap player. With the wave of studs coming up in the next two years we will be built for long term winning at the ML level starting in 2016

On the day of Game 6 of a great World Series, I click over to espn dot com, and the headline at the top of the webpage is a story about Tom Brady getting old. Keep being ESPN, guys.

And when you do find the top World Series story a few scrolls down... they hit you with this...

Another question: Where's Francisco Liriano? He warmed up several times in Game 5 but hasn't pitched in the series after appearing just once in the ALCS. It seems strange that Hinch hasn't brought him to face lefties Corey Seager and/or Cody Bellinger at some point. Given how little he has used his bench, Hinch is kind of playing with a 17-man roster. If Seager and Bellinger hit second and fourth, using Liriano to face that part of the order is a possibility as well.

Someone we don’t fully trust is likely going to have to pitch tonight, hopefully they can get the job done.

You can bet if the Dodgers had the 3-2 lead, it would be the top story. Even the Fox tv promo for Game 5 said something like, "The Dodgers look to take the 3-2 lead going into Game 5."

I want this win tonight more than anything. But shoving down the throats of the media would be the cherry on top.

20 minutes into this ride from the airport to the hotel was about 19 more than I needed to remind me why I was so happy to move the hell away from California.

What a shitty existence.

Same, seems like just yesterday we were excited for the likes of Brett Wallace, Jon Singleton, JR Towles, Jordan Lyles, Jared Coasrt, etc, etc

Man this just grosses me out.

How about a quick round of "Where are they now?" since it is seemingly 845 hours til first pitch.

JR Towles: Astro from 2007-2011. Played in 155 games. Finished his career with 11 homers and a .187 batting average. Last spotted in a uniform as a member of the Independent Bridgeport Bluefish in 2014, where he hit 11 homers and batted .292. He now gives hitting lessons in Texas.

Brett Wallace: Astro from 2010-2013. Played in 311 games. Finished his Astro career with 29 homers and a .242 batting average. He struck out 318 times in 311 games. Played for the Padres in '15 and '16 in 183 games and hit .224 with 11 homers. Padres released him in April, and I have no idea what he is doing now.

Jordan Lyles Astro from 2011-2013. Made 72 appearances and 65 starts for the Astros. Record of 14-29 with an ERA of 5.35. Went to Colorado from 2014-July of this year, when he was DFA. The Padres picked him up and he pitched there for a little while. Lyles' numbers in the majors in 2017: 1-5 with an ERA of 7.75.

Jon Singleton
Astro in 2014 and 2015. 114 games. 357 AB. 151 strikeouts
. 14 homers .171 BA. Played 117 games in Corpus Christi this year. Batted .205 with 18 HR and 62 RBI. Struck out 132 times over 385 AB.

Makes you appreciate what we have even more now when remembering how it used to be...
