The Astros say Jose Altuve’s status is “day to day” after he exited today’s exhibition game with a bruised left leg.

No, he SHOULD have slid. He tried to cross standing up, the catcher tripped him on the swipe tag and he face planted. If he’d have slid, he’d probably be fine.

Was a play where he should have slid. He went in standing and got tangled up with the catcher. And would have been out had the catcher not dropped the ball.

TLDR: What Obi-Wan said. He beat me to it.

Yep, and not only that, he was not running full speed until he saw there was going to be a play at the plate. Shouldn’t have been close.

Can’t have this shite. Ain’t nobody got time for “rest” days in a 60 game season.

And on that note, I am so happy there will be no Hinchings ever again

My only regret is that Cole won’t have a chance to throw a purpose pitch into our dugout at his head

I rewatched recently UCLA’s loss in the CWS Finals, and Cole was crying uncontrollably in their dugout.

I immediately thought about him being warmed up in Game 7 and not used in favor Will Harris to face a guy who hit a HR off of him the night before in Game 6.

You know how bad he wanted it.

Same here. No more hearing Todd Kalas say “Diaz gets the start tonight for Alex Bregman who went 4-5 with 2 HRs last night and has hit safely in 15 straight games.”

That or alternatively, leaving Greinke in to begin with.

Kalas tested positive for covid and will be in quarantine to start the season. Kevin Eshenbleggen will fill in.

We're all about to get Bakered. Verlander might throw 100 innings.

ESPN had a headline about Altuve and Bregs HBP back to back

No mention that they eventually scored

Waiting for one of the Astros to say keep giving free bases, don’t worry, we don’t know what pitch is coming, we can’t hit

Correa is my pick, based on his responses previously. Bregman would be too obvious

Bregman actually responded on Twitter. It was pretty clear that neither was intentional. When it’s intentional, we’ll know.

I'm disappointed we don't get to fully embrace the villian role this year. No fans and there's supposed to be severe penalties this year for brawling. You can't really afford suspensions in a 60 game season.

The Lord wasn’t letting LSU and the Astros win titles in the same year He reminded us of that by dishing out the penalties the day of the title game.

Strommy answered a question a podcast the other day where he referenced a pitch Greinke threw to Juan Soto that was wrongly called a ball and ultimately lead to a walk. That was where AJ pulled Greinke for Harris who gave up the HR to Kendrick.

Strom said he thinks that missed call changed the game and it still pisses him off. He said he pictures an alternate ending where Gerrit Cole comes in for the final 2 innings and they're wearing championship rings right now.

I remember that. Terrible call. And you knew Hinch was coming after that.
