CJ Nitkowski on MLB radio: “what a disappointment. That made it worse.”

The clubhouse is going to be open afterwords. This is going to go on all morning.
I’ll be happy when baseball starts. The virtue signaling by almost everyone is unbearable.
It’s funny to me that teams with former 2017-2019 Astros aren’t speaking out much, “he’s a brother now”.

From a PR standpoint, this press conference was a disaster. Idk what Crane was thinking but he shouldn't have done this if he couldn't facilitate it better than it went. I mean anything short of the entire team falling on their knees crying and begging for the Yankees and Dodgers forgiveness was going to be seen as a lack of remorse.
I assume this whole thing was Crane's idea to make amends and try to put it behind us. But even his tone and answers came off like a guy who was being forced to do this and wasn't really sorry at all.
~Crane blamed everything on a failure of leadership as if the players were wayward children who didn't know what they were doing.
~Crane said he doesn't believe this impacted the game then when asked 1 minute later about that comment said he didn't say it didn't impact the game.
~Crane refused to use the word cheating when pressed on it.
It was an absolute dumpster fire.

People want pounds of flesh and it’s coming an ounce a time. I don’t think it’s gonna slow down much during the season either.
And yeah Crane remains bad at PR

Yeah, but at least I’ll have baseball to watch.
I hope we run roughshod over the league

What a disaster. Basically inviting the national media to grill you on a televised press conference. Have your little meeting last night, give the players some coaching on how to respond to questions, open up the clubhouse and let them speak for themselves. But instead he says they had poor “guidance” and shouldn’t be held accountable, while also absolving himself of any blame. What a clusterfrick.

It honestly seemed like he just rolled out there completely unprepared

It’s time to play baseball.
Move the frick on. There’s nothing else to be accomplished with this other than media drama.

Crane looked like an arse today. If you're gonna do this dumbass apology press conference, go out there say
"yeah we did this. It was wrong, it was cheating, it undermined the game. We're sorry that it happened, we're sorry to those it impacted and those who feel personally slighted by it including those teams we played in the post season. I believe we've sent a strong message to our staff and players that this type of behavior wont be tolerated. Moving forward we're going to play this game with integrity and respect for the game."
There. Admission, accountability, apology. Instead Crane hid behind the commissioner's report and Dodged answers, wouldn't use the word cheating and actually said "the players shouldn't be held accountable."

Damn. Carlos Correa actually gave the best response of all the players. Honest, upfront, didn’t hide behind the report.
What a terrible day for the Astros.

I want his dugout HR celebration to be non-stop variations of drummers.
Rock band drummer
Snare drum drummer
Marching band bass drummer
Urban kids banging on trash cans drummer
Non-stop drummers.
And Altuve needs to act like he’s getting shocked on his nipples before every fricking pitch.

The Altuve part had me explode in laughter at work but yeah I agree they should be trolling the whole season.
