Hopefully one of these outfielders can end the Altuve LF gimmick

Maybe the best part is the Chron interviewed Baggy and he said Cam needed to prove himself in the minors first, Dana Brown told him to shove it

Agreed with Bagwell. Have to look at the back of the baseball card

Excellent. Seems pretty certain he'll start off in a bench role. Dubon was handed the 2B job by default when Altuve was moved to left. Damn sure didn't earn the job. There's only so many 1st pitch, no power, ground outs we can withstand. Rodgers takes the job before June.

Second opinions are never a good sign. Consider his season over. Again I will ask the question, what the hell is wrong with our training staff?

Cam will be the 3rd quickest position player from draft to MLB debut based on minor league games played

Pete Incaviglia 0
John Olreud 6
Cam Smith 32

This is a very strange roster in a lot of ways but I like the players on it

Gonna be fun to watch this unfold. One of the worst roster management jobs ive ever seen from a team that supposedly thinks they are a contender.

I gotta admit I feel better about the 2025 season than I did a few months ago, so Dana deserves credit for that

With that said, it’s gotta be Dana pulling the strings on this Altuve to LF bs and he needs to be held responsible if it’s gonna go how we think it will

I just don’t understand. He’s a horrible defender wherever he plays. However if we play him at 2b then that opens up everyday ab for Dezenzo in LF. Or just many other options that makes our lineup better

I would love to know how different things would’ve been approached this offseason had we know Cam was making the opening day roster

OF defense and bullpen looks to be double disaster. Offense almost completely RH.

Bullpen may not be as good as years past but I bet it’ll still be among league avg

We might set records for worst OF the game has ever seen though

I went and looked it up. Altuve actually led the league in Fielding % in 2024 - .989% (5 charged errors in 475 opportunities). Him leading the league was actually a shock to me, and I'm sure to many of you as well

I've said all along that I can live with Altuve making errors at 2B bc that's his natural position; I cannot live with him making errors in LF. I'm hoping the experiment dies rather quickly and Dezenzo (or anyone not named Chas McCormick) will be in LF by the end of April
