Done deal is done.

We still owe the Brewers revenge for the Zambrano no-hitter.

Ryno says every time a bell rings, a shitty former Astros reserve infielder gets a big hit against their former team.

I like Abreu’s relatively restrained deal more and more every day.

Less than I thought he would get seeing all these deals. I’d have been fine with us giving him that deal personally

Oh.

Well good for him.

In that case the Mariners only have one former Astro. They are fricked.

Division title back on!

I think crane and Firkus LLC is pretty much done with anything significant. Probably resign Yuli cheap and maybe sign Brantley right before season if medical looks OK. I don't see them spending a lot more at these prices. Benny and Nimmo will have. A lot of teams willing to overspend.

Would love to see Vasquez come back as primary catcher but doubt that happens.

I think that is pretty logical and you may be correct.

However, Astros still need a left-handed bat to balance out the lineup. The mid-tier pitchers market is absolutely bonkers right now.

It's time to move Urquidy or Garcia while their value is highest.

Glad we didn't get Contreras for 5 years and $87 million. Way way way too much money for him.

I agree on the LH bat. Should be priority #1.

Disagree with trading Garcia and urquidy. There value is extremely high to us with no depth in the upper minors. That would be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Slightly off topic:

What's been your favorite thing about this year's Winter Meetings?

Current list (in no particular order):

1. Arson Judge.
2. Yankees NOT signing Verlander.
3. Yankees being forced to increase their bid for Judge from 7/$217 to 9/$360?
4. Yankees paying an oft-injured Strike Out machine 9/$360?
5. Jerry Crane forcing the Cardinals to up their offer for Contreras to a 5th year?
6. Arlington Rangers signing De Grom to a 5 year/57 inning contract guaranteeing him $185 million.

Peronally, I really enjoy numbers 4 and 5.

Texas giving deGrom approximately $2.5M per expected start over the next 5 years.

How do we feel about Conforto as a backup option if they don’t get Benintendi? I think I prefer him to Profar, could see him only getting one or two years as well since he probably wants another shot at the market soon after a lost year last year
