Sonny Gray is 6' 190?

I'm not exaggerating or being dishonest when I say I thought he was 5' 10" 175.

Gray is listed at 5'10 190.

You know who else was 6'0 190? Roy fricking Oswalt.

Let's get Bukauskas' arm shocked by a spark plug so he throws 101 instead of 94

Just for the sake of discussion (I'm absolutely not saying we have best record locked up), but in the event we were to get best record in AL, what do y'all think the best situation would be for us in terms of where other teams finish?

I'd guess avoiding the Indians would be the best possible scenario? Let's say Cleveland wins the central and is matched up with AL East winner in 1st round

Obviously if we are matched up with wild card, we would prefer to face whoever finishes 2nd in the wild card spot

Seems like either Boston or NYY will win the East, while the other should get a wild card spot. Who would y'all rather win the division to face Cleveland while we'd potentially face the other in the first round?

Worth noting that our final series of the season is in Fenway so we will have very recently seen some of their starters as well as their bullpen, whatever that may mean..

Boston and Cleveland are who we would least like to face, so they can battle it out in the other divisional series

Yeah, facing both of those teams in a series would be worst outcome possible, so it'd be nice for one of them to knock the other out

If Boston does win wild card, let's hope they are able to pitch Sale in the wc game

The AL east is weird. Boston *should* win the division, but if the Yankees get healthy and play like the first 2 months they could steal the division

So in the AL lineup the Astros have 1, 4, and 5

Hopefully Ludlow can use these next four days to figure out which pitcher(s) he will bring to Houston.

Before the ASG Standings:

2017 Astros 60-29 -
1998 Astros 53-34 6

I know it's beating a dead horse, but seeing Sale as starting pitcher there is such a double whammy.

Had we pulled the trigger on that deal, not only is our rotation set, but we don't have to face him either.

Well now he has to face us. Think about that.

How about an appreciation for just how good our offense has been?

527 runs. 1st in the majors by 41 runs.

898 hits. 1st in the majors by 43 hits

.289 team batting average. 1st in the majors by 12 points.

.355 team OBP. 1st in the majors by 10 points.

148 home runs. 1st in the majors by 10 HR.

602 strikeouts. Lowest in the majors by 12

That's incredible to me. In an age where lots of homeruns go hand in hand with low batting average and a bunch of strikeouts (see 2015-2016 Astros), we've got a double digit HR lead on 2nd place, we don't strike out and we hit .289 as a team.

Good. I didnt want any clubhouse disputes late in the season. I mean pitchers are off to themselves but we have had great unity so far and we dont need our star SS and star closer at each other's throats.
