Gray was an honorable mention as well. Here is the Fangraphs link LINK

I wouldn't be surprised if Chicago holds on to Quintana. He still has a lot of control left and if he pitches really well down the stretch/early next year it might be easier to realize their price for him this winter or next year at the deadline

What's your highlight from first half of the season?

11-run inning vs. Minnesota... mostly because I don't get to watch many games and happened to be watching that one live.

It's weird that Fangraphs lists Gray in their "Some Consistency Would Be Nice" category and not the "If We Knew You Could Stay Healthy" one.

Probably because they know he can't stay healthy.

You just don't see many pitchers w his frame anymore.

All the ones that come to mind are gone due to injury.

Yeah, I think that and the fact that we have interest in Gray and Stroman says what Luhnow thinks.

"It's not the size, it's how you use it."

Good thread Blake. Now we get to relax and salivate over the fact that Tuve, Carlito, George, Devo, and Lance will dominate the All Star game Tuesday night.

And yeah I agree with the people that said George Springers walk off home run against Seattle early in the season was the highlight of the 1st half. That honestly set the tone for the beginning of the megical season were already having.

Ruining Derek Jeter night on Sunday night baseball. Two homers to lead off and then Bregman's slam to end the first inning was awesome.

My first half highlight is Marwin's Grand Slam on May 2 against the Rangers.

Sums up the first 89 games if you ask me.

Teams seeking starting pitching have found the market cost prohibitive so far, with executives saying in particular that the White Sox are seeking an extremely high price for top lefty Jose Quintana.

There are said to be big gaps in Chicago’s talks with both the Astros and Yankees, who are seen as two of the prime landing spots. That can’t be considered all that unusual with three weeks to go, but it’s causing the interested teams to look around for alternatives while they wait for the price to drop.

The White Sox are believed to have sought from the Astros top pitching prospect Francis Martes and outfielder Kyle Tucker. Neither interested team seems prepared to surrender two top-30 prospects in bigger packages – at least not to this point.

The price for Quintana is high enough that the Astros are looking elsewhere, having known to have called on Teheran and even Mets star Jacob deGrom, as Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated and MLB Network first reported. And word is, the Astros don’t actually see Quintana as an ace at this point.

Get frickt Sox.

This is mine. Showed this is a different year, different team, different attitude. I tried to find the Gif of Lance calling out napoli after the pitch but couldnt.
I was at that game right behind the third base dugout. It was awesome.

This. Mainly because it signaled to the Rangers that the Astros were not going to be their personal bitch this year.

But does Lester see him as an ace? This is the most important question

Well, as I recall, we drafted several pitchers.

Is there one with a similar frame to Gray? The A&M kid?

Does he have a history w injuries?

Damn

I thought he was a big kid. Maybe it's just the name that sounds big.

That's interesting.

What's his measurables?
