Gattis playing time has dwindled to nothing but with short left fields in both ball parks, is his power threat worth carrying? Myles Straw is fast as hell but with Marisnick on the roster is he necessary in a pinch running only roster spot?
For Gattis, unfortunately no. If he was hitting in September like he did in June he would be an obvious shoe in. However, Great White has hit half the homers with half the at bats as Gattis while batting 50 points higher. Great White went 4-10 in Fenway this year with 2 doubles and a triple.
I think the nod goes to Straw and Smith.

Your offer sounds great if I were traveling alone, but I will likely have many in tow
You could still end up with a ticket depending on some other factors
People aren't as likely to drop their jobs and take the middle of the week off to travel to Houston like they do for a wknd
So, DATers in the Houston area could be on standby

I would look at Hotel Zaza in Museum District, St Regis, Houstonian, Omni which are all by the Galleria/Uptown area. You will need to Uber for all those for sure but they aren’t too far. Zaza would be closest and you could use MetroRail too if you wanted.
If you’ve looked at those already I would look at hotels in Memorial City/City Centre area near the Energy Corridor on I-10. There will be some nice ones but definitely allow time to Uber into downtown before the game. I believe there’s an Omni out there that’s not bad. I’ve never stayed out there though. There’s a Westin out there as well

Metro now considered
Thx
Still working on coordinating some obligations, with the possibility of my buddy joining me for Game 1, but I have a feeling some of those people that were matters of convenience may drop off the list with Tues and Wed games.
Unfortunately, still working with the same number as last year. And this year could only include 2 home games.
Thx

There are some nice RV parks in Baytown. KAO ftw.

I played putt putt at KOA one time
Took a road trip in an RV one time too
Have always passed through Baytown, never stopped

Boston has a fantastic offense, pretty good starters (assuming Price isn't broken, just sucks against the Yankees), good defense, and a mediocre at best bullpen. If the starters can go deep into games, Boston has a good chance of winning the series, if they can't the Astros will win it hands down
I think that’s a fair analysis. I will say I think it’s interesting that Cora is going with Price in game 2. He has had great success against us so I don’t think it’ll be another outing like against NY, but he’s still never won a postseason start so you gotta wonder if that has any effect mentally
Lets say he does struggle in game 2...you’d still have to start him again later in the series, right? If I was Boston I feel like it could be safer to go with Eovaldi or Porcello and then pitch Price in game 4. Then he could be used out of the pen in games 1/7 (he did very well against us in relief last year)
Plus, Eovaldi and Porcello both looked outstanding in the ALDS. One of them is only getting 1 start
Cora is a lot smarter than me though

#Astros? ? are expected to add Hector Rondon as their 12th pitchers for the ALCS but are having a difficult time deciding who to take off for the roster spot. They’d like to keep Myles Straw for pinch-running purposes which could put Evan Gattis spot in jeopardy bc of Tyler White

I made a last minute decision to go to ALCS game 7 last year. We stayed at the Courtyard in the Galleria.
Since it was last minute, we got to the hotel after 5 for a 7:00 game. We ditched our bags and took an Uber into downtown and had it drop us a few blocks away from MMP and walked the rest of the way. Still had plenty of time to get through the lines and grab a beer before first pitch.
That was a Saturday though. Traffic would figure to be much worse during the week. If you do Uber in, I'd suggest doing what I did and just have your Uber drop you a few blocks off. Otherwise you'll get into road closures and traffic looking for parking.

I wouldn't waste my money this year. This team can't hit at home. Acting like they won the series after beating a shite Cleveland team that can't hit their way out of a soiled diaper.

Brian Anderson, Ron Darling and Lauren Shehadi are the broadcasters for the Astros-Red Sox ALCS. All games air on TBS.
Anderson is the Brewers play by play guy. This was the crew that did Yankees-Red Sox

Anderson is good, I’m not a huge fan of Darling
