We gotta get rid of Brantley. Make cole the next anchor of the rotation after jv.

Cole Bregman Altuve long term core that build around

Win WS with Greinke then trade him back to the NL. Re-sign Cole. Easy peasy lemon squeasy.

at this point you can flip a coin for the CY Young award

Verlander will likely win it, but Cole is right there

That would be fine but personally I’d still rather move Brantley. Before greinke but with Brantley resigning cole was thought to be doable. Brantley is 16 mil on the books and greinke is about 20 and I would think giving is an expiring would be easier to move. We’ve got plenty of outfielders. Then the next season yuli comes off the books also.

If you get that done then you have a rotation of jv/cole/greinke/McCullers for the next two years

I would rather just suck it up and pay the luxury tax for a year instead of moving Brantley

Brantley is awesome and has one year left on his deal, it would be idiotic to trade him to save money IMO

I’d love to go over the luxury tax too but I don’t think it will happen.
He’s such an injury risk and we have a clogged up outfield as is. Deal him with the value being high get a few prospects and have tucker to take over left next year.

Ideally we could move reddick too but may be a pipe dream.

Yeah, Brantley not going anywhere

Reddick will get moved, probably for half his amount due (6.5 M) and we should get a decent prospect

I might normally be mad about him pitching here

But we need him, and he needs this work

That would have been a nice idea had we not waited until September to call up Tucker. At this point I trust Brantley more.
