There’s really not much place to improve unless Crane is blowing by the CBT thresholds.
You’ve got 160M tied up in: Altuve, Correa, Yordan, Walker, Hader, LMJ, Javier. All guys that are 29YO or older next season.
Assuming the CBT goes up a little to $250, you’ve got to fill out a roster of 18 guys with $90M
We are so fricked. They need to strip it down, and do something different. We’ve had a fun 10 yr run. The owner isn’t going to spend, and the farm system isn’t good enough.

Some of you guys are addicted to the 2011-2014 hopium climb
Most teams are either perpetually rebuilding or have a 1-2 year window that ends with maybe a playoff series win.
Multiple things can be true at the same time: (1) there are issues with the roster construction; (2) the organization’s hitting approach requires a complete overhaul: (3) if not for injuries this team would be comfortably leading the division and jockeying for position with Toronto.
Hell, if Hader, Parades, and maybe one other starting pitcher are not injured this team is easily up there with Toronto.

On a totally unrelated note, I saw that Chuck Salt was DFA by Detroit and signed by the Braves so he can retire with them.
Chuck is good people and will always be Astros royalty as far as I am concerned.

I can't believe what I'm about to ask. Is Walker that much of an upgrade over Jon Singleton (the ultimate AAAA threat)?
We know Yordan is clumsy but could he play any first?
Between Pena, Paredes, and Correa do you consider moving 1?
I'm not even upset with the pen, they've gone bad late from overwork

Singleton is hitting 190 at Sugar Land... only player thats worse is Chas McCormick at 107

Plus his fatass could barely field his position at 1B

Pena could have played his last game as an Astro
Enjoying the Indians putting all kinds of pressure on Detroit. They are the team I want to see come out of this with a spot
Beating Skubal at their place and making Hinch turn off CNN in the dugout. Good shite

You know things are bad for MSNBC if even Hinch isn't watching anymore.

Guardians beat the Tigers. We could end tonight where we started it. Tied for the wild card but on the outside thanks to the tie breaker.

Need to sign Pena. And as hard as Walker is too watch he’s leaothe team in RBI’s and second in homers plus plays a good defensive first base.
What about Urias and Sanchez? Any place for them? Doubtful Rogers is back. Dezenzo started the year with the team but did Cole just replace him?

If we are really interested in making the playoffs, Detroit continuing to faceplant this week is probably a good scenario.

Ideally, with just the 6 games left and Detroit owning the tie breaker over us, its like they were starting with a 2 game lead over us vs Clevelands 1. You might have wanted Detroit since weve got less gap to over come with Cleveland.
But Detroit is in a free fall. Cleveland is hot. It may still be fine if Cleveland can sweep Em. Then Detroit faces the Red Sox.

Detroit goes to Boston this weekend while Cleveland plays Texas, which likely will be eliminated. The Astros probably slip in if they have a winning week.
Not that it matters. This team ain’t winning a best of 3.

I want Hinch and Espada in Cabo helping each other with their resumes.

They're not. And I think we'd have to go to Seattle right? Their pitching will kick our shite in again. But I'm never ready for the off season. Give me 2 more games. And hell, if we pull off the most hilarious miracle ever and delete Seattle, I'll never stop laughing. Give me that chance.

More than likely the AL Central winner. Seattle is a few games up on them now.

We may not score a run in Cleveland if they win their division. Their pitching has been on a heater for about 3 weeks.
