Rondon (need him fixed ASAP)

As of right now, his arse should be off the ALDS roster. It would be batshit crazy to carry a guy who has been a growing dumpster fire for the past month.

Why would Stassi be on the roster?

I'd rather Gattis than Stassi tbh.

Yeah I was just saying if we were to do same thing as last season

I’m guessing they’ll have Gattis on it for any extreme situation

Hinch’s insistence on forcing Rondon to fail the last 3 times can only serve one purpose

If he allows Rondon to take Giles’ roster spot from last postseason, he has learned nothing

And he will have played Russian Roulette with our divisional championship chances for nothing

I agree but up until a few weeks ago, and only talking about the bullpen guys who have been on the team all year, Rondon was prob the most consistent

It’s pretty clear Pressly is considered #2 behind Osuna though

Exactly. Rondon has a track record of going downhill during a season and not bouncing back. He's officially fetch, and it's not gonna happen.

Want an extra power arm in the pen to replace him? Josh Flames!

Right but go to BR and check out his past month. It's a horror show. Bad timing but the time to "snap out of it" is all but gone. It would be dumb to even carry him and madness to pitch him in high-leverage against Cleveland.

So let’s try to pen down the DAT consensus

Catchers/DH

Bmac
Maldo
Gattis
White

Infielders
Yuli
Tuve
Correa
Bregs
Marwin

Outfielders
Springer
Reddick
Kemp
Jake

13 position players and if we do 14 then add Straw? Objections?

Seconded. Motion carries.

Now do the bullpen.

DAT consensus for pitching (will likely be hard to find a consensus here)

JV
Cole
DK
Morton
Lance
Jabroni
Peacock
Pressly
Smith
Sipp
Osuna

^that’s 11

If we go with 12 and (big if) there’s no Rondon then it’s gotta be Framber or James. Consider me team James but I wouldn’t mind another lefty

I’d honestly prob prefer James in a game than multiple guys on that list but I’m trying to keep it realistic

Have we heard anything about Lance the last few days? Last I heard was almost a week ago and he was throwing pens and feeling fine...but he’s gotta make an outing or 2 RBI’s last week if he’s gonna be on postseason roster right?

Has he earned it over Rondon? This is a close one for me. I guess McHugh can be a long reliever...but I'm not certain because hes been just as bad recently as well.

So Rondon was to the bullpen what Fiers was to the rotation last year

Thanks for your service, Hector

Your list is on the money for me. Would be an interesting choice between James and Frambaw.

Who do you want for matchups more? It might swing in Frambaw's favor for the ALDS because of Alonso/Kipnis/Brantley.

I just can’t imagine them leaving Rondon off. Maybe he’ll have another implosion or 2 this week and make it an easy decision

McHugh OPS vs, past 28 days = .661

Rondon OPS vs, past 28 days = 1.049

I wouldn’t flinch

If LMJ is healthy and ready to throw 4 inn worth and gonna be on the roster, Keuchel wouldn’t make my roster

I would take my chances w half games of Valdez, James, or LMJ over a Keuchel start any and every day. And all 3 of those guys can pitch in relief.

There’s what we all think and know should happen and then there’s what the organization isn’t going to do because it would look bad.

As obvious as it was to keep giles off of the World Series roster last year the organization decided to leave him on and hinch never really used him, thankfully. Wasted position. So too would it be if keuchel and rondon make this roster. Keuchel can’t help but put us in a hole early and we can’t afford to get in a hole against good teams with good hitting and pitching. But he’ll make the roster because he’s a mainstay guy.

Same with rondon. Yet another blowup today and was looking at another loss if not for the late rally. The guy has completely lost confidence and looks like a mirror image of Giles before we booted him. Straight fastball and a curve that always catches too much of the plate. There’s no way you can trust him anymore in a close game but he’ll make the roster I’m betting.

And if he does and hinch decides to use him it better be one batter at a time. And he better have another guy ready to come in immediately.

Don't write Will Harris off yet. He hasn't allowed a run in his last 10 appearances. 3 hits allowed in like 11 innings

True, he could make it. Not that he's to be trusted against the best teams but at least he's hot right now.
