It was announced today that long time Astros announcer Bill Brown will retire after this season.
He will always be the voice of my Astros on TV.

Will be "intriguing" to see what happens if Ford or anyone moves into the TV job as the full-time guy. What happens to Blum? I don't want to see him go just to keep Ashby on every game. Bleh.

I would support this move, he did well filling in this year. I would be shocked if they gave full time duty to Sparks on the radio. He's a decent color guy.

Ford was really enjoyable when he did the series in St. Louis. Paired really well with Blummer.
I hope Ashby isn't moved to full time play by play. Recently Blum tweeted TBD when someone asked if he was returning next season. If the plan is to move Ford to TV, there's no reason to keep Ashby doing PBP on the road which eliminates Blum's roll.
It's either going to be Ashby and Blum full time or Blum gets cut and it's Ford/Ash full time. I'd really gate to see Blummer go. He's come into his own as a color guy.

In another Htown move - Matt Thomas will be the PA announcer and road PbP on 790. (MT was PA guy back when the Rockets won back to back titles.) He will still keep his morning show with Lance Zierlein.

My vote is Ashby and Blum full throttle. I don't like Ford on the radio but his style played a bit better on tv. He's too bland for me. More like a national broadcast voice.
