This division could be decided by a half game.
Not to detract from your message, because I think you’re correct, this is turning out to be an impressive race to the finish.
But can a division really be decided by a 1/2 game? Don’t all teams play 162?

That's a good point. And thanks for putting it kindly. My mistake.

There will be no half a games.
Only half a brains.

Only half a brains.

Every time I want to just ignore things out of frustration, I think about how excited I’d be if the Astros were in this position ten years ago and prior. I try not to get too spoiled.

I am the same way. It’s tough to put this into perspective because of how good the last 6 years have been. There are aspects of this season that have been incredibly frustrating, but the fact this is a “down year” is also incredible.
If a couple key personnel issues are righted in the off-season and Crane is willing to spend a little to maybe beef up the rotation (it’s a great SP market in FA) and find a LFer it’s easy to see us being really damn good next year also. Diaz looks like a cornerstone and is 24. Several guys (Chas and Dubon notably) took huge steps forward offensively. The 3-4 year outlook isn’t as rosy and I hate looking at “next year” when this year is still very much in play but there have been positive developments for the future this year
Just getting 100 games or so of Yainer catching vs the 50 or whatever he’s caught this year should result in a massive improvement

Jays lose to the Yankees, 5-3. Drops them to the same 85-68 record the Astros have. Both a half-game ahead of Texas and Seattle, who are 84-68, in the wild-card and West races.
