It appears Dusty absolutely refuses to play Mancini in LF, even in Minute Maid. Y’all ready for Aledmys Diaz as your everyday LF in October?

Can't waste his versatility like that. Chas/Dubon/Ted in the OF.

Also Chas destroys lefties so naturally he’s sitting. You can make a good argument Diaz in LF and Mancini at 1B is our best lineup right now, but of course we don’t see that, and Yuli is hitting second

I think I'm about done trying to make sense of these lineups. Whatever, we're probably going to get bamboozled by daddy Martin again.

Trying to make sense of Baker's thinking is impossible. I loathe him.

It is fair to assume we could trot out prime Bagwell and Berkman at 1B and LF in this lineup and he still carves us up

Trying to be calm and realize the best 9 will play once we get into October and with the 18 games in 17 days or whatever out of the break I could understand some of the mixing and matching after the trades went down.

Coming off an off day there is no real reason why your best nine shouldn't be starting today and tomorrow.

Are you suggesting Dusty would play both of them?

Chandler Rome
@Chandler_Rome
Astros acting manager Joe Espada on today’s lineup, namely Chas McCormick not being in there: “I did not ask Dusty that. He is writing the lineups. We do have a ton of confidence in Jake, so that’s why he penciled him in there for sure.”

These lineups had his dumb gloved fingerprints all over them

No shite. It's been clear he was still making the lineups. Interesting to see Joe separate himself from Dustys dumbassery. This is a man who wants a managers job and doesn't want Dustys stupid decisions attributable to him.

I'm all for Dusty f'ing himself out of a job. He's got a lot of experience doing it, and he's very good at it.

I found it interesting Click specifically mentioned he could help them at first AND corner outfield when he was in the booth after the deadline. I think he also wants to distance himself from the clown in the dugout.
