He's a better hitter than defender. So he's got that going for him.... Which is nice.

Mo Ensberg thinks every Astros prospect is the greatest thing since sliced bread. We need to make him the GM of the Angels. Dude would probably trade us Mike Trout for some Rookie ball guy he watched play once.

He's from nola and posts on Houston chron.com.

He took some heat for quoting Gomez's broken english. Which was right, but pretty funny. He is to the point and likes to stir it up so I like him.

Earlier this season he wrote a piece about HOU vs ARL that was good too. If i find it i'll post it.

eta Astros superior to Rangers
Some good trash talking, if you dont' like trash talking and are thinned skinned then you won't like this article.

quote:

The Rangers aren't even from Texas! They're out-of-state foreigners who were born in the most despicable place in the country (Washington, D.C.), then snuck over the border in 1972 when no one was looking.

Shots fired

Wanted to read it but requires a login.

Nothing wrong with some trash talk, doubt that guy would publish that at this point in the season like some Astros blog did the other day regarding Texas' trade acquisitions and still saying Houston was better.

ETA: LINK

Pretty hard to say a team is better when they're 1-9 against them on the year.

I'm going to the midland vs corpus AA game in midland tonight. Any chance they sent bregman all the way back to corpus so I can see him play live and maybe give him a few pointers

The Astros are better than the Rangers.

If you had read the article you would know. He would have no problem with putting that article out today.

I'm not signed in on chron.com and it shows up - eta

If you're talking about the chronicle one I would have read it, but I'm not paying for a subscription to the Chronicle to read one story lol.

The guy who wrote that doesn't just drink Kool-Aid, he snorts it with $2 bills.

Yeah, finding stats to back up this argument isn't where to look.

The Astros aren't the worst team in baseball and have some talent. If they can play at the level the are capable of, they can compete and win.

Several of the writers and posters at TCB have to feel smarter than the common fan by dismissing any idea based on surface statistics like W-L record or head to head results. You can't possibly be correct because fWAR, wRC+, dRs÷, arse% suggest that the Rangers should be one of the worst teams of all time.

I appreciate advanced statistics as much as the next guy but there are certain points when you don't have to do any deeper digging to make your conclusion.
