I don't know Verlander's personal priorities, but if he values winning a championship as much as most professional athletes, what the Astros have going for the next few years should get him to come here.

I agree... the Astros are set up to compete for this year and the next several at least.

Giving players huge contracts late into their 30's rarely works out. Might be worth it this year but would severely limit any moves the next few seasons

If Detroit eats as much as has been speculated, his remaining cost isn't really that unreasonable.

Let's give Altuve the day off. That's a sure fire way to end a losing streak.

I have a feeling we end this slump and low morale when we get George back. He seems like the prime example of a player being called a spark plug. He can get everybody to relax and go back to having fun while whooping arse

So the nats were up 3-0 vs the Cubs in the 7th with one out. Starter gives up a 2 run homer. They then proceeded to keep the lead by going kintzler madson Doolittle all acquired via trade

Carlos Correa said he's going on the #Astros upcoming road trip to Chicago, Texas & Arizona. Expects to swing for the first time in Chicago.

Nats must have decimated the farm to get those guys...

Yeah their system was left reeling after dropping their 15th and 17th ranked prospects by baseball American and 15th by MLB.com. No AA championship for them!

Tonight will be the first time the Astros field a lineup without at least one of Altuve, Correa or Springer since Aug. 9, 2014.

What disappoints me the most is considering the Nationals had a terrible bullpen before the deadline, they went and got Madson, Doolittle, and Kintzler to fix it, and now their bullpen has looked extremely unstoppable since they've gotten them. Meanwhile, we made pretty much no moves expect for Liriano who is trash. We've literally had one of the worst bullpens in baseball in the past 50 games and we don't do shite with it. It's so discouraging. At least we can hopefully get Will Harris soon.

Thankfully our farm system didn't get worse so I guess not trading for anybody was worth it.

Ef the negativity. Let's start a win streak.

Does Chicken still frequent the DAT? I forgot my password and can only post when working nights since I never log out on my work computer.
