I disagree. Most of us don't need sunshine. But we also don't need to watch every pitch with a .45 cal barrel sticking in our mouth.
There is a logical and rational middle ground in which most of us live. We'd love to have you join us there, but for some reason you like the taste of that gun metal.

@brianmctaggart Following More Astros: First 58 games: 42-16 Last 66 games games: 34-32
Sooo we've been quite average for longer than we were really good. Pitching wins ball games. We don't have it.

Last we heard of you , you were in the hospital...glad you are alive and kicking.
(if this were the OT, I would say "congrats on beating AIDS" or something to that effect, but the DAT is a classy place so I won't say that)

The simple facts of the matter are this: the team that wins it all isn't necessarily the team that is the best over the course of 162 games....it is the team that happens to be playing best in October. That is why wild-cards have won the World Series.
There are 2 simple things to accomplish: 1) Earn a spot in the playoffs and 2) Play well once you qualify. The Astros have almost salted away #1. We won't know the answer to #2 until.....well...October. If everyone who was out gets back rolling in September, then being hot in October is certainly possible.
Long story short, at this point games in late August don't really mean a whole hell of a lot when you have a big lead.

Correa has missed 31 of those 66 games, Keuchel has made just 5 starts in those 66 games, not to mention the games missed by Springer (15?), McCann, Gattis and starts by McCullers in there as well. I'm confident in all of those guys sans McCullers contributing in the postseason

If lance was truly hurt which by all indications is true (his timeline of feeling bad said was his second start back) then a healthy McCullers solves our issues.
Keuchel seems to be back
First half lance is certainly a playoff number 2
McHugh has looked as good as any 3 out there besides the dodgers
Morton has pitched very well since coming off the DL
Pen in the playoffs
Liriano
Clippard
Musgrove
Peacock
Devo
Harris
Giles
Everything now hinges on McCullers
I say this not to excuse ludlow-I made this point so many times that a trade for a solid starter meant we only needed one of Keuchel or lance to get right.
However I feel like our roster if McCullers gets right is still better than any team in the AL.
Price is still hurt for the bosox and miller is going back on the DL for Cleveland. Everyone else has their issues too

I don't believe LMJ issues were injury related.

Speaking of LMJ. Does anyone have faith in him to ever stay healthy? At some point in the endless arm, shoulder and back issues, we're gonna run into the discussion of moving him into the bullpen.
Is he more valuable in the rotation pitching 125 innings with 2-3 DL stints or at the back of the bullpen in high leverage pitching 70-80 innings a season.

Are you talking about him pitching like shite before he went on the DL?
Posted on 8/22/17 at 1:53 pm to MSMHater
No. He's brittle and honestly in question his desire to be great. He seems caught up. Toughness is important.

They may not be but they have let him have a pretty significant stretch on the DL for an "injury"
Ill withhold judgement until he comes back. Ludlow could have made Lance a luxury rather than a necessity but alas we must play the cards we are holding.

That looks like a lineup where Hunch is trying to win a game. Unlike Sunday's
