Might we be getting a little help from our friends in Minnesota? They lead 5-3 over the A's in the bottom of 8th....

I really feel like the A's are due to cool off, and with the Astros having everyone healthy again, I think the Astros are ready to rebuild their lead.

I would feel better if the starting pitchers get their acts back together.

Oakland has some pretty easy series remaining (we do too) so idk how much we can count on them losing.

We really can’t afford to have our home struggles continue when they come to town next week. 2/3 in that series and we just need to take care of business going forward. 3 @ Boston and 3 at home vs Arizona and Seattle is our only series remaining against teams over .500 after Oakland

These were the numbers as of two days ago. We now have a 1. 5 game lead. Astros have a little easier schedule statistically but it's really a wash.

: Astros (75-50) and Athletics (75-50)
Games remaining: 37 (19 Home, 18 Away for Astros; 18 Home, 19 Away for A's)
Remaining opponent's winning percentage: .484 for Astros; .495 for A's
SportsLine's playoff odds: 94.9 percent for Astros; 84.9 percent for A's
SportsLine's World Series odds: 9.8 percent for Astros; 2.4 percent for A's
