We're not even close to getting any hits let alone any runs. This team.

Altuve is ready to be activated. Lead off the Fresno game with a 4-3 groundout. the Astro special.

José Altuve works a full count in his first AB. Gets out in front of the offspeed, bounces it up the middle -- but right into the shift.

Man, he has a long way to go. Once he's swinging at the first pitch, he'll be ready.

2 hits in 2 ABs. Haven't seen that from this team in months. Feels nice.

The A's worked Verlander for 43 pitches through the first two innings.

I miss doing this to opposing pitchers. Most guys that throw against us now are hitting 43 in the 4th

Exhibit 189 that Springer is a horrible baserunner

Can't go 1st to 3rd on a routine groundball to 2nd thru the shift w 2 outs

And, oh yeah, welcome back YULI!!!!!!

Gotta give credit to Maldanado. 9 hole hitter who started this little rally with two outs.

It took Bregman beating the shift to get this thing headed back the right direction.

Would it be too much to ask Verlander to throw a shut-down inning here?

Its nice to know the offense has a pulse.

The fact remains, there are still 7 more innings of pitching required. Can they be solid enough to hold this lead and/or can this offense prove it can put its foot on the pedal and continue to produce?

And credit Pettis with not giving the windmill around third to said moldy nacho on Springer's single.

Shut down innings have been the biggest weakness during our rough stretch
