for some reason i thought gray would be only through 2018. so then yea they probably have the same cost
quote:i think quintana has more of a track record and he has pitched better years than stroman ever has. plus quintana has had a pretty strong june. i think quintana is better even though he got off to a really rough first month or two
I think Stroman is a better pitcher than Quintana personally

Quintana's fly ball rate career wise is a little concerning. I guess I just prefer the type of pitcher Stroman is

Which is fair. If he's the 12% hr/fb guy that hes been this year then it changes things. I think that he's given us enough proof that he's more like a 9% hr/fb guy and I really am not ready to lose faith in that after just 8 or 10 starts
But yea, fly ball pitchers are inherently iffy

Gray and Stroman are probably my top two. Cole is still really intriguing, but he will probably be pricey and he's been inconsistent

I would give up whatever you need to for stroman, I fricking love that guy
Posted on 7/6/17 at 4:50 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
Yeah, especially if the a's only want a top 5 and top 15 prospect then I'm all over that

I'm sure a lot of you guys have already posted this, but JB Bukauskas is officially an Astro, signed for $3.6 million. I think he'll be a hell of a player for us.

Thought we were going to have to give him more than that. excited to get him signed

Everything I've read about the kid looks phenomenal. Big time draft steal. We definitely have depth in the minors to deal some arms i.e. Martes Paulino Perez or musgrove now

Yeah he was rated #7 overall. Guess the chips just fell correctly

Little blurb about Tucker from a Fangraphs scout:
quote:
Tucker is so pull-happy on the ground that he’s already being shifted by opposing infields, but his swing, which evokes another era of baseball, allows for airborne power to all fields. Tucker has been significantly more aggressive at the plate this year than he was last, but he’s generating enough power on contact that scouts don’t care. He’s hitting very well for his age at Double-A Corpus Christi.

Abe Fromann, meet Marcus Stroman, the Four-Seam Fastball King of Toronto [Houston].

Pretty shitty AB by Beltran there. He's had quite a few of those lately.

Lance is so annoying in 1st inning.
Posted on 7/6/17 at 6:27 pm to Lou Pai
Lance isn't a good 1st inning pitcher for whatever reason.
Posted on 7/6/17 at 6:28 pm to lsusportsman2
He's trying to aim instead of pitch, hate that.
