Nah, he’s an animal. The Doyers get cucked and lose at home. Cheater Betts can’t come through

Who needs Correa, Springer, Tucker, Bregman, Yordan, or Pena when you can just beat the Dodgers with Cooper Hummel, Taylor Trammel, and Zach Short

7-1 during this stretch against the National League division leaders. Somehow the Rockies have as many wins against us as the Phillies, Cubs and Dodgers.

No shite. Every time I look at the line up, there's somebody I have no idea who it is, and he's starting. Zach Short is one.

And now, folks, it’s time for a long-distance dedication on this star-spangled weekend. I'm Casey Kasem. This one’s from Patriot in Houston, sending a big ol’ Texas-sized smirk to Marxist in Los Angeles. Patriot writes:

"Dear Casey,

I’m dedicating this one to Marxist, sulking out there in the Peoples Republic of California. The Astros just obliterated the Dodgers 18-1 at Dodger Stadium, their worst home loss in 78 years—talk about a Fourth of July firecracker! Then the 'Stros clinched the weekend series tonight. While Marxist is probably crying into a kale smoothie, us baws are toasting with some good ol’ Shiner Bock, celebrating our boys, especially Jose Altuve. So, to Marxist, here’s a little tune to cheer you up—or not. Keep reaching for the stars and your wallet to pay for all those taxes."

So, from Patriot in Houston to Marxist in Los Angeles, here’s 'Ice Ice Baby' by Vanilla Ice—crank it up, Marxist. Word to your mother.

The position players ought to be well rested for the stretch run.

The bullpen maybe not so much.

Will be great when the horses in the back are able to step up and contribute.
