We will see what they do, I’d have no problem with it for sure. Tough to say it’s likely though. Getting a high comp pick for him in 22 the first year with all their picks back (and a potentially huge bonus pool) I’m sure is being considered as well if there isn’t a good deal. If Springer wants a ton this year I don’t think it’s crazy to see Springer walking and resigning Correa. I think they want to keep one but obviously can’t keep both

If Correa stays healthy and tears it up this short year and next he could price himself out of that though which is the risky part

Am I correct are all three starting outfielders Free Agents after the year? Or was I just imagining things?

Yes

They have a ton of money coming off the books after this year and next. The flip side to that is the roster situation is very sketchy/unclear and those players obviously need to be replaced. They potentially have some answers internally but it’s hard to tell right now

They can not sign all three I would not think. Is there a trade deadline or are you set in rosters with your Taxi Squad?

I doubt they even try to sign Reddick.

Brantely I would like to keep around. Springer obviously I would love to keep around.

Jim Cluck is out here picking up worthless old trash pitchers when they won't end up being any better than our rookies.

Correa is the higher risk, IMO

Too many ifs

I don't see them letting Springer walk, b/c like you say, have to keep one, and Correa is no guarantee once you let Springer go

My ideal scenario is they keep Brantley and Springer then aggressively try to trade Correa for pitching help. I’m high on Toro though and think he can slot in at 3B and you just slide Bregman over to SS

Also, signing Bregman like they did, before Correa, is really all you need to know about that

And Dusty is platooning and pinch hitting for the former top prospect OF against LHP. That's annoying me. Tucker actually has reverse splits in his minor league career, he's been better against lefties than righties.

Reddick is almost certainly not back next year, Springer may price himself out. I wonder if Brantley may be had on a reasonable multi year deal. But we need to see what Tucker is made of this year. Let him sink or swim.

Click said the roster is being tested and that these rookies have been impressive then signs Fernando Rodney and trades for Velazquez. I’d rather ride these rookies (and let them get the exp) than trot out a 40 something year old Rodney and a Hector Velazquez.

He's Cluck now. And if he signs Bud Norris, he'll be Cluck forever.

When you clean the litter box, you normally don't immediately take a shite in it right after.

If we wanna throw at dudes, can we bring back Reymin Guduan? He's wild as hell and also a little bit crazy

quote:

Dean Deetz is a little bit of a character, and talks a lot of smack. He was giving Reymin Guduan The Bidness about not being able to throw a strike. Guduan responded by throwing a shoe at Deetz and  missed (badly, apparently), to which Deetz responded “See?” That is legitimately funny. What happened next is not. Guduan picked up a bat, swung it, and hit Deetz in the head. Guduan apparently didn’t get a great swing on it, but “it definitely dazed” Deetz.”
“Guduan was removed from the clubhouse, but came back later, this time with a knife. “He didn’t do anything with it, but he stood at his locker and glared at Deetz.”

Did Albers retire? He’s had at least two stints with us, why not a third?
