That's more of a fantasy than getting Ohtani.
It doesn't hurt to dream big. I bought a MegaMillions ticket this morning for the chance to think "what if?" for the next two days.
Few fans expected us to get Verlander in 2017, but it happened. Therefore, my 2022 version:
Some combination of these four with maybe a lefty reliever and/or a serviceable catcher.
Ohtani/Bell
Benintendi or JD Martinez
Don't like or want Soto

How did AZ make out on the Greinke deal?
I know Rojas has been doing well lately, but haven't heard much on the rest of that package
Just curious as in how it might affect a deal now. As you know, when a FO gets the better of another, it plays in future talks

I don't like the price tag, but in a fantasy world he's #1 or #2 behind Ohtani.

Corbin Martin was already hurt so that was their risk. Beer has reached the big leagues but not fully established yet. Rojas is a decent versatile regular as expected. I think we all knew then Bukkake was a bust but that's who they wanted.
They'd be dealing with Click now and not Luhnow while having Strom there to tell them what pitchers they should and should not take.

Beer has been up and down, he sucked in his big league action this year, but I think he's still their 1B/DH of the future after they trade Walker.
Rojas has been a positive WAR player basically in an everyday role the last two seasons. He has really improved his K% this year.
Bukauskas got a call up last year and then battled injuries. He just started pitching again and is still a likely bullpen piece.
Corbin Martin looks like another bullpen piece with maybe a future in the rotation, but he hasn't been impressive in his big league action.
Still, all 4 guys have reached the majors with one solid contributor so far. That's looking like a good return.

Turrible.
It's been 3 years and Rojas is the only one who's made any contributions.
Rojas 264 games since 2019: .283/.335/.384
Corbin Martin missed 2020 after TJ, battled some other injuries he's pitched 11 games for the Dbacks with a 7.08 ERA, 25 walks in 34 innings.
JB Bukauskus was called up last year as a reliever and had a 7.79 ERA. He's missed all of this season with a shoulder injury and is just starting rehab assignment
Seth Beer made the opening day roster this year and hit well for about 10 games before he cratered and got sent down in mid May.
ETA: I say terrible but they got one out of four minor league prospects who turned into a regular major league contributor. I guess that's actually pretty good.

Hey Siri, how long until the MLB trade deadline?
There are 5 days, 6 hours and 55 minutes until the MLB trade deadline on Tuesday August 2nd at 5 P.M.

We aren't going to see much excitement until Monday, are we?

If Click is trying to do as much wheeling and dealing as it appears, the first domino needs to drop before Monday. It seems he's trying for rentals and longer term solutions at the same time. If he's biting off more than he can chew, we might be fricked.

He needs to get a 1B option ASAP and then worry about the rest.
ETA: Or dump Stinky first.

Y’all are going to shite bricks when you find out the magician that Click truly is…
3-team trade: Astros, Reds, Nationals
Astros get: Castillo and Soto
Astros give up: Urquidy, Leon, Bielak, Whitley and 3 lower level PTBNL guys and none other than FODB.
I have no idea where they go and what other pieces are involved. I do know we could have swung the deal without including Whitley, but Click insisted that one of the teams took Baker in the deal. Whitley was the price for that insistence.

What do you guys think about trading for CJ Cron?
Would love to trade for him, but the question is if
A) Colorado wants to give him up
B) What it takes to get him
I understand he has hit very well the past couple years with the help of Colorado, but would still be a big upgrade. He is also under contract 1 more year after this one I think at $7.5 million. Might take a good bit to get him at that price/length, but think it might be worth it.
Also another L tonight.

Don't see much happenning for Hou until Monday or Tuesday.

Knowing COL, they won't trade him. He has a year of control left on a cheap deal.
Also, these are his non-Coors numbers this year:
AVG .219 OBP .293 SLG .391 OPS .683

Not good Bob.
He an illusion of Coors Field. Don't fall for his Siren song.

Yuli-esque. Actually almost identical to Yuli's 2022 line.
