I would bump Brantley or at least allow Marwin to compete in the Final Four vote.

Who would you bump for him?

Well Castro and Trout are both on the DL... as well as Keuchel but presumably he'll be bumped for another pitcher.

Even if Castro comes off before the game, doubtful he'll play.

After looking at it (I edited my previous post)
they have at least 4 other players I would take over Brantley, he would be an obvious bump.

Castro should be back in the lineup this week

If someone made a Twitter account for All-Starwin or Marwin4Miami, he may have had a better chance

Ryno did a great job with that Twitter account trying to drum up some AllStarwin support.

Here's an interesting analysis of Sonny Gray
LINK
Cliffs:
quote:

Should he be dealt to a contender, odds are he won’t have to be the No. 1 guy in the rotation, and that’s a scary proposition. Gray’s FIP of 3.48, ground ball rate of 55.9 percent, and strikeout rate of 22.9 percent suggest that he’s been a victim of the A’s being a pretty atrocious defensive team more than Gray being ineffective. FanGraphs ranks the club dead last in all of MLB in defensive runs above average, and Gray’s performance has suffered as a result.

Including a 6'7 pitcher out of Brazil

Next week is going to be awful

(Yes I know that I should get a life. Seems overrated IMO)

Lunhow is smart to not give up guys like him and tucker that will be big time difference makers for marginal improvements.

Would've been more true if Paulino wasn't a dumbass. Martes, Whitley, and FPerez are all great prospects but one of them will probably be gone by August. Not sure who I want to keep most.

That's why I keep coming back to Musgrove. Of the three you mentioned though, it's likely Perez who is the one Luhnow would part with first.

Plus, I think a guy like Morton can be in play for a team that is chucking 2017 but not 2018 (i.e. Pirates, Mets, Tigers).

Lil Tucker had a little adjustment period at AA, was down in the .220-.230 for a little bit. Back up to .280 now

The Cubs have made contact with the Tigers about veteran righty Justin Verlander and catcher Alex Avila, according to a report from MLB.com’s Jon Morosi.

Verlander I get but Avila I don't, Conteras is having a great season just needs to AB. Unless they want him just to move Conteras around and give him more time off.
