Urquidy has demonstrated the best control and command in the system since the Astros purchased him from the Mexican League's Mexico City Red Devils for $100,000 in 2015. After missing all of 2017 following Tommy John surgery, he made a successful return last season and starred in the Carolina League playoffs as high Class A Buies Creek won the championship. He has continued to pound the strike zone after making the jump to Double-A in 2019.
Urquidy has to locate his pitches with precision because he can't overpower hitters. His best offering is a plus changeup with fade that he sells well by maintaining his fastball arm speed. His heater parks in the low 90s and peaks at 95 mph with some armside run.
His biggest need is to improve his soft curveball because right-handers have teed off on Urquidy since his elbow reconstruction. He has proven that he can deliver strike after strike but still has to show he can miss enough bats to succeed against advanced hitters. Projected as a middle reliever or swing man, his floor stands out more than his ceiling.

Prediction: 10-7 Astros.
Springer Dingers.
Urquidy goes 5 and gives up 4.

9-6 Stros. I'll be there.
Lower level seats tonight above the Astros dugout, under cover of the club level in case we get some rain.
Tomorrow night, Society, the sports bar downtown that is Denver's Houston game watch party bar, rented out a big party suite near the right field foul pole for Astros fans only (and SOs) we're in on. We also get to go down on the field for the post-game fireworks show too.

The ball should carry, so make it carry!

Let the mile high mockery begin.

I was gonna try to make this trip but it didn’t work out. Seems like the Astros/Rockies series at Coors are always fricking mid week and this year was finally by a holiday. Pissed I can’t make it.

Just try not to let the Astros' recent sweep of the Mariners make you forget that the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.

Since the move to AL, 2-game weekday series is all they've had here. One season they didn't even come.

I went to a Rockies v Dodgers game a couple days ago as the finale to a family Yellowstone/ Grand Tetons trip. Didn't realize until now that I just missed seeing the Stros by a couple days! Really liked their ballpark setup and had a great time regardless.

I'd do this so fast if I was Lunhow

Ludlow should give his left testicle as a sweetener to get that deal.

I'd rather throw Correa in there, and get deGrom
And Thor has been so inconsistent and oft-injured that I think the proposed deal above could actually get done as is.
But that ain't happening until they have a good feel for what Bum is going to cost

We can't afford Degrom. Were close enough to it that luxury tax limitations come into consideration. Crane has said hes not willing to go over. Degrom will he making $35 million in a couple seasons.

Also trading Correa would necessitate another big move since we all know this current lineup minus him is probably not a serious contender.
It’s an edgy thing to say but not a practical idea if the goal is to win championships

Yep. Any trade of Correa would have to go down in the offseason.
